Summary
Dr. Ben Aanderud, DMD, FAAID, DABOI/ID, a native of the Portland Metro area, has been practicing general dentistry since 1999. After earning his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, he spent two years in Argentina on a mission, where he became fluent in Spanish. He then returned to pursue his dental education at Oregon Health Sciences University Dental School, graduating with honors and setting the foundation for a career focused on excellence in patient care.
Following dental school, Dr. Aanderud completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program with the U.S. Army and served as a general dentist and Captain while stationed in Kuwait. In June 2001, he transitioned from active duty to civilian practice by joining New Smiles Dental. His military background further honed his skills and deepened his commitment to precision, professionalism, and compassionate care.
Dr. Ben Aanderud has been recognized multiple times with the “Oregon’s Top Dentists” Award …and maintains active memberships in leading professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, Washington County Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also a Fellow of the American Association of Implant Dentistry (AAID). Known for his friendly and skilled approach, Dr. Aanderud offers a full range of dental services, including:

Dr. Aanderud is the best of the best. He is so kind and genuinely cares about his patients. Everyone at his practice is so nice and I felt very welcome. They have movie glasses so you can watch a movie while getting your teeth done and if you get cold they can even get you a blanket. I would 100% go to Dr. Aanderud again, he is an awesome dentist!
