What others are saying about
Dr. John McGarry
  •   My knee surgery went well. I am back to running regulary w/out any problems. Dr. Mcgarry spent ample time with me to explain what he was doing and why. Follow up visits were fast and helpful.
  •   Dr. McGarry was very different from most surgeons. He spent time with me and answered all my questions. He has an excellent bedside manner
  •   Absolutely horrible! One of the worst experiences of my life. Dr. McGarry acts as if you're bothering him. He doesn't spend more than 5 minutes with you to discuss anything PERIOD. He's condescending if you get a chance to ask him anything as he's darting out of the room with obviously somewhere better to be. How much confidence in him does he expect his patients to have when everything he says and does implies he could care less about me, my treatment, and more important, my recovery. I would never recommend him. I got fed up and went to Plano Orthopedics. Everyone there was great. They took the time to explain things. They seemed to actually care. Nothing like McGarry. My best advise...stay away from Tarpon Orthopedics and Dr. McGarry.
  •   McGarry performed knee scope on me. Surgery went well but I was injured in physical therapy. Now I'm left partially disabled and he says there's nothing which can be done. He doesn't spend more then 5 minutes with you, and doesn't like answering questions. He horribly mislead about recovery time. Seemed more interested in doing surgery then what was best for patient. Staff is incompetent. They screwed up getting post-op instructions and other vital information.
  •   Dr. McGarry was very different from most surgeons I have visited. He has a wonderful bedside manner and explains things in detail. He even drew a diagram to explain my shoulder problem. Surgery went very well and I am on my way to full recovery.
  •   Dr McGarry was very accurate on his diagnosis. I had a lenghty list with questions related to my torn ACL, and he spend the time to explain each one of them in detail, as well as my recovery options, including surgery.
