Dr. Ahmadur Rahman, MD

Dr Rahman is competence and kindness personified. My favorite and most admired physician in town!

During the pandemic he was extremely helpful. I am so thankful. I have been going to him for years and he is always so kind and sharp.

I went to Dr Rahman as a referral from a therapist who I saw only once. The therapist told me that because I was experiencing difficulties in finding a psychiatrist who was accepting new patients with my new insurance, that I could try Dr Rahman, who was able write RX's for refills. After checking Dr Rahman's website, I saw refills as one of his services. I found Dr Rahman’s office dark and dingy though staff were congenial. I explained to Dr Rahman that I wanted a refill for my anti-depressants but he flatly said no and that I'd have to see a specialist. OK, fine, now I know. Moving on, I told Dr Rahman the second reason for my visit was to obtain a Dr’s note about being half deaf, a disability. I’ve been deaf in my left ear all my life. Dr Rahman appeared incredulous and retorted--”How do you know you’re deaf in your left ear?” This stupefied me and I responded by telling him that all my life I have been deaf in my left ear. The reason I know I’m deaf in my left ear is because I… can’t hear in that ear. He then patronized me and said--”That’s not what I asked. Have you recently seen a doctor who confirmed you’re deaf in that ear?” I was getting increasingly frustrated, confused and felt challenged by Dr Rahman, who then abruptly cut me off and said--“We are not a good fit, find another doctor.” This is my first experience with a doctor who was dismissive, shockingly rude and unprofessional. He ought to be sensitive to a patient’s disability, a patient who is taking anti-depressants, as was divulged to him in the beginning of the appointment. I left his office bewildered at how awful he was and feeling humiliated and bad about myself. Dr Rahman is a disgrace!

You should not look further if you have seen Dr Rahman . I can attest to his brilliance. He caught something one of my specialists missed and he saved my life. If he had not sent me back for a second opinion I would not be alive. I really cannot thank him enough. The staff is super nice and take good care of you. They are competent and professional. The office can get very busy, but only because he is that great. I myself referred about 10 people already. Feel extremely lucky.

I wanted to thank the staff at Dr Raman's Office for taking such great care of me when I was sick. With my terrible insurance , I need referral for every little thing. They got it done timely. My medications need prior authorizations on a regular basis and they always get it done . Dr Rahman communicated with the specialists regularly to make sure everything was ok. I could tell that the staff worked very well as a team and ensured that I received high quality care. Thank you for being so genuine and compassionate.

Dr Rahman and his staff are amazing. I have been going there for two years since he took over the practice and I must say I am highly satisfied with the transition. He is not only caring but knows his material. I have my whole family going there now . I would like to add, since I have a high deductible plan, it is complicated. However, Dr Rahman has a professional billing company dealing with that and they explain every question that I may have. This is a huge plus since most solo doctors have an individual person who does billing and they are often hard to get in touch or they are not responsive. I needed an Internist in my area. Wasn't sure how this would turn out. Was very happy with my visit. Dr. Rahman is a good listener and spends time with the patient. He follows up appropriately. I will be his patient for a long time to come. I am glad to find him. The entire staff is very professional and helpful.

In an age of medical factories where faceless, nameless patients are briskly ushered in and out of Doctor's offices with little more than prescriptions and follow-up appointments, Doctor Rahman is one of the rare ones who genuinely cares about the welfare and well-being of his patients. Very uncommon these days. In addition to being very sympathetic and reassuring, he is also a highly skilled diagnostician and I have always placed full trust and confidence in his assessments of me. He really is a true Doctor to his patients. I can't say enough good things about him other than that I am very grateful that he is my Doctor.
