I had a rare and serious eye condition (non-age related AMD)that was terrifying to go through. Dr. Lauer was (and continues to be) WONDERFUL!! He explained everything about what was going on and guided me through some very unpleasant procedures and frightening times. He's not only technically great, but also has the kind of bedside (chairside?) manner than you never expect to find in a specialist. (Unfortunately, he doesn't do regular ophthalmology-- and the same cannot be said of the ophthalmologists at OHSU.) The only negative thing is that you can end up waiting forever, but that's OHSU!
