Excellent !!!!! I truly wish I could get him back. He would definitely resolve a lot of my problems
Dr. Newton was my psychiatrist for over 10 years. This man had compassion for his patients. Several times he didn't even charge me for visits when I was without insurances . One time he actually called the pharmacy for me to get a price for the script and handed me the money. I have so much respect for this man. He has got our family through some very rough times and I am absolutely devastated that he is not practicing at the moment . I just pray justice will prevail over such ludicrous accusations . My heart is very heavy to lose such a man with so much experience . He is truly the only doctor that has ever got my diagnosis correct . I know so many in our community are absolutely devastated over losing this intelligent and caring psychiatrist .
My son was seeing Dr. Newton about 3 or 4 yrs ago. My son has a chromosome abnormality. Since he was born i have taken him from Dr to Dr even genetic specialists. He would always be put on drugs that made him angrier, cause harm to himself or others & be put in zombie state. Dr.Newton listened to what i was saying and after only a few months my son was a different person. He is no longer angry or in a zombie state. To this day he is doing great, the best he has ever been. I am so thankful for Dr. Newton and what he has done for my son. He is hard to understand when he speaks due to his accent but he was very kind & caring.
Extremely rude, judgemental and gives false Diagnosis'.
I would not recommend this Dr to anybody. He is a very judgemental, Rude man. If you're seriously having issues, go to your next best option. I will not be going back.
Dr. Newton is the best shrink on the planet period! Brilliant and very king. He has helped me and many of my family members. He is better to us than our family! If you need mental help get there as soon as you can. A Dr this good is in great demand!
Just the best. A brilliant and kind man. He has helped me and other members of our family. Just the best!
All of the staff is kind and know me and my daughter buy name. I never have to wait longer than 10 min. to see the doctor and he addresses all of mine and my daughters needs individually and takes the time to discuss the whole families needs. Our appointments are not just about med changes. Dr, Newton takes time to discuss specific issues and offer solutions other than meds.
He loves to write perscriptions and should be investigated by the FDA and in my opinion should be stripped of his medical license
i have being seeing him for few years. he is very practical and intelligent. He does not do psychotherapy. However he would give practical advise and there were 3 other professionals in his office who do various types of therapy. He regularly do laboratory work to m0onitor the meds that he prescribed.
I sees Dr. newton at a different office in Danville. He actually consults for a multi-county MH/MR program. I moved from the South to north central PA.While living in the South I was used to dictating my treatment to the doctors and this sort of impeded my getting well.at our first meeting, he made it clear that he will be the one in charge. I had to take the meds as prescribed, do all laboratory and radiological investigations and if I do not, he would cease to be my Doctor.this approach has worked tremendously well and my family quite happy with my progress. I continue to see him and he is above all non-judgmental.
Our little son has significant behavioral and emotional issues. We went to the largest medical center in the area and we were told literally that we are bad parents. At school our boy was also having problems. When we saw Dr. Newton he did a full evaluation, and explained the medical condition, He sent us to another specialist for additional tests. Our boy improved dramatically. We had him to thank immensely for giving our son back. He is a marvellous physician and we owe him a lot. Once again thanks.
7 years ago, I was a graduate student and 6 months into my studies I became depressed. Initially I attributed the mood symptoms to stress. I waited for additional 3 months before i sought help. He was very thorough and I have been seeing him since then. there was a time I was having a crisis, i called him on Sunday. he told me he was in my area up in North East Pennsylvania. He came to my campus and we met at the library. He is always willing to help and will give next day appointments when necessary. He is somewhat very serious and seldom laughs, but that is him. I will recommend anyone who wants to get mental health treatment.
After seeing this Dr. 3 years ago I have a whole new outlook on life. He helped me through a very difficult period in my life & continues to do so. He is very straight forward & blunt which I can see some people being offended by. I don't believe it is his intention to offend I truly believe he knows no other way than the honest truth & let's face it the truth sometimes isn't what we want to hear. 3 years ago the office staff was not reliable however when Dr. Newton brought on Stacy who is his nurse things really started to become organized & the wait time to see the doctor was drastically improved. The doctors schedule is very tight so if your a chronic re-scheduler this wont be a good choice for you. He is always monitoring your medication compliance & is very strict about taking the medications as prescribed. If your drug seeking STAY AWAY he is way too smart for that & he despises drug seeking patients. His whole staff is ver courteous but like I said if you need something done correctly & quickly ask for Stacy she always gets messages relayed to the doctor & is ver knowledgeable about the psych field & can answer most of your questions. If you play games with your doctor or want disability I suggest you find another doctor because that is not what he is about. He is strict, to the point & above all extremely concerned of your well being. If help is what you truly need he's your man.
He is a good physician and he follows up withappointments and making the necessary refferal when need to. However, at times he does forget that he went to medical school for years and further training. He should not assume that patient should all that be knowledgeable. He gets frustrated at times when I did not grasp the medical explanations. However he is getting back. beware he will call the pharmacy to make sure you are taking your meds regularly and if not he would discharge you! All in all a good Doctor and he dresses professionally all the time.
He told me "I do not speak the addiction language". He was right. For years I would get multiple prescriptions from different doctors and sell some and use some. After he listened to my story, he called me a liar right into my face. He said the symptoms simply dont add up. He was the first Doctor to debunk my lies..for which am grateful, that was 7 yrs ago and i'm still seeing him and would continue to do so. He helped me a lot. He even encouraged me to get off disability which I did. My self esteem is better and am happy I followed his treatment recommendations. As long as you dont ask for addictive pills you will be fine with him.As a physician I have zero complaints against him.
as a single mother of two teenage sons, they were heading for prison and thanks to Dr. Newton for all of his help, practicality and passion. He really cared for what he does.I'd been seeing him with my children for several years and we are appreciated for all he has done.
As I was reading the previous comments I couldn't believe the reviews. The doctor I saw was such an amazing person, who cared & took his time with me. The office staff were friendly & very quick to return any phone calls I had made. The office location is 129 East 5th Street Mount Carmel, PA 17851 not the Hickory street location, maybe they have the wrong doctor. All I know is I have been going to this particular doctor for the past 8 years & will continue to do so.
He started seeing my 2 children about 8 years ago. They bothe have significant behavioral problems and they are attending special schools for the emotionally disturbed. After 2 years my kids were virtually transformed and could not ask for better children. They are doing well in regular schools too. He is blunt to a fault. I read the reviews and these individuals must have seen a different Dr. Newton. He is very punctual with time and would not hesitate to ask you to reschedule if you are late by several minutes. He always gives one the opportunity to seek second opinion should one wishes. I will not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who is serious about getting help for their mental health concerns. The address is 129 East 5TH street, Mount Carmel, PA 17851. Same address for several years. So I do not know who wrote 316 South Hickory Street.
I read some of these reviews and decided to weigh in. I have been seen him for 10 years and he has been tremendous. He does not pull punches and he would lay out his treatment goals right from the begining. I do not know what these reviwers are talking about. He is very knowledgeable at what he does. He would provide printouts from the computer with educational materials to better understand your illness. he is great.
his mood swings are atrociously unpredictable. he screams at the staff in front of the clientele in the waiting room. he talks on his phone and fiddles with his computer while he is asking you questions and answering them for you. he puts words in your mouth to match his mistaken notes. . . . and to excuse you until next month so he can quickly carry n with his business at hand, which apparantly isn't you. he has written wrong prescriptions and called patients liars even though it was on record. when he looks you in the eye, it's by accident.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN >>> HE IS RUDE AND HAD MY 7 and 5 Year OLD CRYING ........ when i took them there for an eval
Horrible doctor. Double books patients and only sees them about 5 min. after having to wait over 30 min. He is very ignorant. He doesn't know what medication he has prescribed to you. He doesn't listen to you. He refuses treatment and sending medical records
