Dr. Westfall has two challenges: (1) he struggles to conjure compassion for his patients and (2) his company, Retina Consultants, is run like a mass production facility. Regarding (1), he is impatient with patient questions and clearly focused on getting out of the room quickly. When given kind, constructive feedback, he was absolutely not open to any reflection around his mannerisms and behavior. Regarding (2), his staff nurses do not introduce themselves by name and simply start putting in drops, doing tests, etc., without any foundational discussion. It was clear that other (older) patients had been bullied into a cattle car mentality.

This man was extremely clinical and cold. He performs laser surgery like a kid on a video game. What he is doing obviously excites him, but I seriously doubt he could tell you the color of his patient's eyes much less their name. If and when he speaks, he is patronizing and makes assumptions.
