Dr D'amico caused pain while inserting a catheter into my urethra during the exam and triggered a discharge. I am still hurting quite a bit since I saw her a week ago. I was not feeling discomfort before my appt. I called and they said your culture we took before the exam is fine. Sorry about your discomfort. You need to go see your gynecologist. Blew me off!

 |  Had a sling put in bladder, failed surgery! Surgeon very rude!  |  show details
Aug 29th, 2011

I had bladder surgery in December 2007. Dr. Anna D'Amico was the surgeon. She made me believe through our many visits that the mesh surgery was my best option. So after further discussions and other options I decided on Dr. D'Amico doing the bladder surgery and putting in a mesh sling to hold up my bladder. She was very nice until after I had the surgery. When she came to visit me in the hospital the day after surgery, I expected to be able to void on my own. When I asked her why I could not void on my own, Dr. Anna D'Amico exact words were: "I don't know what you are crying about, you are no better or worse then you were before I did the surgery!" I told her that I thought the whole purpose of the surgery was to fix my bladder problems so I could pass urnine. Dr. Anna D'Amico said, well the surgery didn't work like I thought it would. I asked to stay a 3 day at hospital since I had no one to take care of me and her exact words were: "I don't care if I have to send you home with a cather in you, you are going home today!" I thought she was very rude and obnoxious as far as her bedside manner goes. She could of been a little more simpathetic to my concerns, I feel. Here it is 8/2011 and I am facing surgery to remove the mesh sling, since it did not work. I was told she should have removed the sling since it did not hold up my bladder when the surgery was performed. She left the sling in me even though it served NO purpose. It was just in me and not holding any part of my bladder up. She further double stitched over my bladder to tack it up instead of tacking it on each end of the bladder; which is standard procedure for tacking up a fallen bladder! Very dissappointed in her services and I would not recommend her serivces to anyone!
