Patient Reviews ? Write a Review
This doctor is always in a hurry to get you out the door. She is not very sympathetic, continuously compared my issues to her life and she is just not very understanding. Watch out if you have paperwork, she doesn't like to help with that at all. The girls that work in the office never follow through on anything, and they are rude and condescending. The entire office is ran like a mill. They triple book appointments so always expect a long wait. This office is just a money mill, ran like a factory.
I called the office to make an appointment for a family member and left a message because no one answered the phone. No one ever called me back. That tells you something about the practice without even stepping foot in the office.
Dr Martinez is an excellent Doctor. She spends an a great deal of time and asks targeted questions. She listens, I mean really listens, and conveys concerns to you before prescribing. She has an excellent understanding of medications and goes over the side effects and possible interactions. She will change medications that haven't worked and also combine medications to find what is the best solution. She will review the risks of medicines to make sure they outweigh the benefits. Lastly I would like to say she has a way to make you feel better every time you leave her office. This is better than than all the meds she can prescribe.
Dr. Martinez takes the time to listen to all my concerns and addresses each one. I love how private her practice is. I highly recommend Dr. Martinez.
I've seen Dr. Martinez for about 4 years. She starts off with a thorough and comprehensive interview with you on your family and health history instead of immediately pulling out the prescription pad and sending you on your way. She has a way of doing interviews and making you feel like she is talking to you as a friend. Most importantly, she's friendly and compassionate while also being straightforward and pragmatic. I have found her easy to talk to and she won't waste your time with chit-chat and/or telling you what you 'want' to hear
Saw this so called "doctor" twice, she was horrible. I tried to tell her what I was going through and needed help. She started yelling at me, wouldn't let me finish my story, She stomped out of her office several times during my visit, started screaming and yelling at some guy in the back who looked like some bouncer who took too many steroids, with a big pot belly. He looked at me in a very hostile way, I though he might throw me out of the office. When this witch came back into the office, she whipped out her perscription pad and began furiously writing, I asked her what she was giving me, and she snapped at me "I'll tell you in a minute, keep your mouth shut." I just stood up, grabbed my purse, and walked out of her office. This woman is crazy, keep away from her. The office is filthy too with trash thrown on the floor, and two snotty, nasty "receptionists" up front, who won't make eye contact with you. Stay away!!
This doctor does not offer treatment only meds. I need a doctor for treatment and medications. She will not help with disability forms unless you have $320.00. That's crazy. She doesn't have time for treatment. I ended up in the hospital following a recent visit
I recently had the pleasure of my first visit with Dr. Martinez. I must share with you the excellence of the entire visit. From the very beginning you are welcomed in by her office staff, they were both nice, friendly, and helpful. The visit with Dr. Martinez was beyond any expectation. She took her time and listened, and talked to me with respect and dignity. She even eased my fears as we shared some laughs together! She is kind and considerate of her patients. When the visit was over I felt like I had gotten a VIP treatment As far as I am concerned there are not enough stars to rate Dr. Martinez. She is an outstanding, excellent doctor.
I always feel better when I see Dr Martinez. I have been her patient for over 5 years. She is as always my favorite doctor. Dr Martinez I took the time to write this to show you how thankful I am. I hope you read this.
Dr Martinez is truly the full package, everything you could ever want or need in a doctor! Her therapy, intuition, and unbiased advice have helped me through a very dark part of my life. She has a way of making me see myself as I really am, and guides me in the right direction without pushing me. I actually look forward to our sessions as they give me powerful food-for-thought for the rest of the week and allow me to come to my own realizations without her help. She is also very open to alternative therapies which is very refreshing, she is not your conventional monotone psychiatrist, you can tell she has a genuine interest in her patients and her work. I am so thankful to have her in my life and would definitely recommend her to anyone else who feels that their life is missing something.
Dr Martinez and the staff are first rate and we have been very happy with the process and more importantly with the outcome
To echo the other 5-star reviews, the doctor and her staff have been extremely helpful to me with a variety of my issues. Despite having a busy practice, Iâm always able to schedule a timely appt. Iâve consulted many MDs in my life, and itâs rare Iâve found one as knowledgalble, accommodating, and concerned as Dr. Martinez.â
This Dr. is one of the worst experiences my daughters and I have ever had to endure to date. We were a patient of Dr. Martinez for several months. I DO NOT RECOMMEND her as your psychiatrist. In all my life, I have never met a doctor who is as irrational, accusatory, judgmental and quick to jump to conclusions without all the facts as Dr. Arlene Martinez. She should NOT be seeing patients, rather she should take an extended leave and become a patient herself to learn how a true mental health professional acts and deals with patients.
I saw this doctor because a friend goes to her and recommended her highly. I was very nervous the first day but she made me feel comfortable. She uses aromatherapy, low lights and background white noise, to create an ambience of relaxation. The minute you walk into her office, it smells so good and she has this very soft sofa where the patient sits down and relaxes while she helped me say what was making me so anxious and sad. It's sometimes difficult to put in words how you feel, but she certainly guided me through that first interview without making me feel rushed. She seems very knowledgeable and is very up to date in new treatments, medicines etc. She also worked with me with samples of antidepressants until I could have money to pay my copay through my insurance. The office is clean, a little small though, but she has free wifi so I could connect online while I waited for my turn. Overall, it was a very good experience and I also can recommend any patient to try to get an appointment with her.
The doctor saw me weekly until I was feeling better. The medicines took a few weeks to work but I was also seeing the therapist which was conveniently located in the same office. The nurse practitioner was also very caring and supportive. They all work as a team and I couldn't feel happier at this office setting. The doctor worked with my insurance company to get my medicine approved. The staff fax every paper needed for me to get the medicine approved. Meanwhile, I got samples until the insurance covered my medicine.
Excellent doctor and very knowledgeable. Very caring and compassionate.
The doctor took her time asking me questions and obtaining my history. She was very kind and seemed to care when I broke down and cried. I did not feel rushed at all. I felt the visit went by so fast but then I realized she had spent an hour with me! And it was her lunch hour. I kinda felt bad because I know she didn't have time to eat afterwards cause she immediately started seeing the afternoon patients.
The wait tends to be less in late afternoon. I've heard other patients in the waiting room who are scheduled for 2 or 3 pm, show up at 1 pm. These tend to be the Hispanic who show up whenever they want. I'm amazed at how much patience the doctor and staff have with them when they start screaming in the waiting room. I'm very satisfied with my care and treatment
This is a very caring doctor. I cannot believe these other reviews! I know when I go there, that I will have to wait, but, once I'm in, I never feel rushed. She takes time to listen and is very caring. I've seen other nasty patients in her office and they are the ones with the real problems! Most probably these reviews come from them!
I have been a patient of Dr. Martinez for 4 years. If it wasn't for the fact that I use to be able to just call and pick up my medications- I would have stopped seeing her a long time ago. Her staff is rude on the phone, never has openings, and the wait time has never been less than an hour.
Every time I called Dr. Martinez Office they give me a quickly appointment. Is the only doctor that care about my problem, every time I went there she is very comprehensive always has a smile.
I have never met a psychiatry who takes her time to listen to me and calmly explain my treatment options. It's the first time in my life that I feel the doctor is including me in my decision to try a new medication. I feel part of the team. Her staff is attentive And caring. Yes you will have to wait but it's because she takes her time listening to her patients. Dont be fooled about the reviews below, I have a feeling that these people did not get the drugs they wanted.
I have tried several doctors and finally I found one that is the best! She is very holistic in her approach. She ordered labs and found out I had sleep apnea and a thyroid problem! Not even my primary doctor thought about that! My depression is gone and I would not change her for any other doctor ever!
I am a patient of Doctor Martinez and she is wounder full. yes sometimes there is a little wait but in all my Doctors i have to wait. i have never had an issue the staff is amazing. I would recommend here to everyone.
I am amazed at how people criticizes a doctor because they have to wait. Every time I go to a doctor, I take a book because I know I will have to wait. She is worth waiting for. As for pill mill, she never gives out medicine unless she has a drug screen done on the patient and is sure the patient is not an addict. She also checks on her computer if the patient has been " doctor shopping". She will confront the patient if they are drug seekers, maybe that is why these people are complaining. Very caring and compassionate but don't think you can get disability claims or time off work, if you don't really need it. She is very honest and upfront with people.
