Dr. Armando Alonso Villarreal, MD

Whenever I call the staff takes the message and states he or someone will get back with you. Never happens. I have to call back and remind them why I am calling. Michelle I believe is his NP, do not deal with her if you can, avoid her, very contradictory to what she tells you and what Dr. Villarreal tells you. If possible only have Dr. V deal with you directly he is very good at what he does in my opinion. I have had back issues for over 17 years. Michelle does not give you the time of day. The first visit with her she seems to care, after good luck waste of time quick to dismiss you. Last visit I got stuck seeing Michelle, horrible experience. She was running approx 45 min. behind. She came into room gave her apology, (not very convincing) stated she would give me the time and not rush through my visit which the whole time her leg was twitching. She started explaining my results for my CT/MRI with contrast results before she was done Dr. V knocked on the door before you know it I was… walking out the door within in 4 minutes left wondering what just happened.

I would recommend Dr. V. To everyone. He is one of the best doctors in his field. As far as personalities, he is so compassionate of your needs. Also he is the most gentlelist person when doing procedures. I just love this guy, and you will too.

Dr. V has been a god sent to me. He helped me get off the heavy drugs that I wanted nothing to do with. I now have a stimulator and no heavy drugs!

MY EXPERIENCE WHIT THIS DR I NEVER WILL LIKE REFERENCE HIM..IAM HAVE THREE WEEKS FROM MAYOR LOWER BACK FUSION IAM AND LOTS PAIN ..AND HE SEEMS ME AND TREAT ME LIKE DROGADICS FROM THE ST. IAM STILL SUFFERING AND HE DON'T PRESCRIBE NOTHING. ..REALLY BAD CHOOSE. ..

I've been a patient here for almost 1.5 years. I sought them out because I felt treated badly at the doctors office where my initial surgery to remove a cyst on my spine went badly. I have severe nerve damage in my chest and back. Doc V. Rolled up his sleeves and started trying things that hadn't been tried yet. I now have a cocktail of treatments that at least help. I'd hate to think of where I'd be without him and his NP! The staff has never been anything but pleasant and respectful. I am now moving away and am praying the new doctors will as great as these guys!

Would not recommend Dr or NP to anyone. Felt lied to. Didn't even follow up after a particularly bad treatment to see how I was days later. Now has given up on my treatments in the middle of my care.

I was in a car accident that eventually led to a spinal surgery, but I still suffer a great deal of neck and back pain. I met with Dr. Villarreal ONCE, and have not seen him again even though I've had a few appointments since then. Speaking of appointments, there is one particular day that I get out of work early each week, so I schedule my appointments for that day of the week. THREE times they called and canceled my appointments because there weren't many other patients that day and I'm assuming that they wanted to leave early. Also, I recently had some tests done and was able to review the results in My Chart. There were tons of issues, and while none seemed catastrophic, I didn't appreciate the email that I got from the office saying, "Everything looks good." No, everything does not look good. I researched every single finding in my file and there are lots of problems. How can you simply say everything is fine?! As I write this, I'm in a great deal of pain. I called the office… today to try to get in but they're all booked up. I asked if they could prescribe something for pain until I can be seen, and was told no. Well what is the point of pain management if you're not going to help me when I'm in pain? I read lots of bad reviews and decided to go ahead and give the office a try, anyway. I regret it. The ONLY good thing that I can say about one of the staff members in the office is that if one medication isn't working, she is willing to work with you to try a different one. Too bad NONE of them ever work.

It was difficult to become a new patient and it took several phone calls on my part to get scheduled. I tried two RFA procedures- neither of which provided relief. He alludes to a disk problem but will not explain himself in office visits. I had 3 procedures total- the initial block, then two procedures. For two of these three procedures I had to make multiple phone calls with the office to see if my insurance approved and then schedule- the office does not contact you- you have to make the calls to them. A forth procedure was ordered but the office never called me back after two months- then I decided to leave the practice. I have seen people drive a long ways to the office to find out their provider is "on vacation." Not only was I disappointed in the doctor, but the office is not well run. Once I sat in the exam room for over 1.5 hours- they "lost" my name in the waiting Que.
