Staff is unprofessional upset when they answer the phone almost like you are bothering them - not able to help when a crisis is happening - OVER MEDICATES - medicines not needs to be given - ON HOLD for over 30 minutes at a time - doctor does not show up for appointments when made by staff - over all of office - kind bedside manner but in all honesty needs to be a better doctor for medicating patients - RUDE MAN OFFICE MANAGER - not kind at all to patients - Patients hospitalized frequently due to non communication of office staff - not recommending for future patients to use this doctor - very unhappy and disappointed.....!!!!
An acquaintance passed me Dr.Sabnis's number when I told her I was looking for a Psych who took my insurance (State of CT Insurance). It took a bit to get in the door for my initial appt. I got the a pt. quickly, but she went home sick with that horrid flu for my 1st appt, the 2nd was during the horrible blizzard, the 3rd was a charm! She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, a good listener, compassionate, laid back, empathetic, sympathetic, etc. I got a good feeling from the moment she introduced herself to me. What impressed me was her knowledge of addiction disorders. She wants to help addicts gain sobriety and better lives. Sadly, most addicts are addicts and will use and abuse any med that gets them high or gets them money to get them high on something else. I assume Sabnis caught on to their BS and games and cut them off so they are mad and leave nasty reviews on the internet. Being clean nearly 10 years I can imagine. I pulled the same BS. Since she prescribes Suboxone to those seeking to get off Heroin she's bound to come across a few who do not want to get clean but want a Dr.Feelgood and get salty when their lies are brought to light. In North Ave in Bpt. she is the ONLY one who eased the suffering of inmates in the midst of hardcore withdrawals. Other doctors laugh at them and call them junkies and tell em not to get caught next time. She is kind and compassionate but no dummy. Don't take her kindness for weakness. That said: For the FIRST TIME IN YEARS AND YEARS I do not feel utterly alone and hopeless. I feel with her I may get a grip on my depression and anxiety once and for all. Hopefully shell help me with the SSI applications too. I was scared to leave my home, scared to shower, scared of living and scared of dying before I lived. It was horrible to want to die but too scared to die because you are scared of dying. Depression so thick its like a fog over you 24/7. Through it ALL I never once used or drank :) I wont ever GO BACK to being an addict again. Ugh. Id rather die than live a life full of lies and dirtiness and deceit and pain. Dr.Sabnis I am sorry a few fools gave you bad reviews and I pray no one takes disgruntled junkies looking for a Dr.Feelgood seriously. Your a Doctor trying to save lives, not dole out pills to addicts who wanna continue using. Guess they got it screwed up huh?
She helped me a lot with my kids and DCF involvement. They are gone. And everything is fine. Thaks Dr.S
After 5 years of ordeal finally she is the one.Now I am back to my life.
She is a very smart lady. I suffered from lot of panic attacks, anxiety, and was on anxiety meds with no relief. She diagnosed me correctly and gave me meds that worked a miracle.
She is very smart, has knowledge of both eastern and western medicine. She made me so comfortable, I opened up and felt so much better after a long time. I highly recommend her.-Sincerely,Erika S
Called and recieved an appointment for the very next day. very impressed
The worst doctor I have EVER encountered. Was incredibly rude, insensitive and unprofessional. I have been to the office numerous times and have always waited over an hour. Incredibly difficult to reach, says shes going out of the country for months at a time. The WORST doctor!!!!!!!!!!
Getting through to the office to make an appointment is nearly impossible. You don't get a live person but instead a message that the voice mailbox is full. They change their payment policies without notice.
Disorganized front office, no way to actually get in touch with the doctor, careless medicine management, spends about 3 minutes with patients
I have been trying to get my 12 year old son's medication filled for over a week. This doctor will not return my phone calls or the pharmacy's. I am disgusted and will be filing a formal complaint.
I have been a patient of Dr. Sabnis for 16 months now and my only real complaint is that there is no way to get ahold of this office after hours & on weekends which with all the controlled substance medications that are being prescribed this can and does occasionally become a really big deal, also her office staff is really good at blowing off messages & not telling the doctor things and or just never returning a phone call, I hope that sometime they come on these websites & read these comments so that these issues can and will be corrected. I could not believe some of the other reviews on this site they sound like hate postings, first of all to anyone out there that judges a recovering addict DONT, unless you understand it you should not open your mouth because I used to judge and thought it could never happen to me, now I know (since I became one because of my primary care physician over prescribing addictive substances) that it can happen to anyone unsuspecting or not. To the racist that stated go back to India, REALLY?? this is 2011 get a grip on reality please the ignorance is disgusting. Dr. Sabnis herself is a great doctor she is caring, she listens, she will let you talk, she does not rush you, she is really compassionate & she trusts you if you are doing the right thing which feels really good for someone to have faith in you. I would recommend her for self help definatley, I will be asking her about after hours numbers etc. the next time I go in for an appointment because that could def. make or break the situation.
I am really surprised at all the great reviews...my daughter went to this doctor for a year and a half only because she was one of the only doctors that would take our insurance...very unorganized office, and never once told us that she wasn't taking our insurance anymore, when I called to reschedule an appt, they told me I'd have to pay because she was not taking our insurance anymore...I think it was very rude to not even let anyone know that this was going on...my daughter was on important medications that she ended up going off of because of this...she now is going to another doctor, thankfully, and I would never recommend this doctor/office to anyone!!!
I have seen Dr. Sabnis for a year now. I think she is not only an excellent physician, but she has one of the best personas for psychiatry in Fairfield County. I usually ignore bullies and jerks (especially anonymous ones), but I must address the negative reviews on this website: One person implied a racist attitude towards Dr. Sabnis. Another person complained that she (the patient) had to pay her co-pay for her appointment and that THIS was a problem--this implied fiscal irresponsibility on her (the patient's) part to expect anything otherwise. I hate to take a stab at people I haven't met, but you should consider the source of the advice you plan to take when the negative reviews seem to originate from the most ignorant, racist, irresponsible people I've ever read on the internet. Thank you, Dr. Sabnis, for all of the ways in which you have helped me personally. I appreciate it so much.
If you are looking for down to earth compassionate doctor then Dr. Sabnis is it and so much more. I do wish her answering service worked and her staff was trained, more pleasant and professional but that is not so just yet I hope it will be as I continue to visit her with two of my children who have ADHD and Depression and anxiety...If you are patient this is your doc if not do not bother as you will get annoyed once in a while
I have serious anger problem and trust issue. My first two marriages ended up in devorce. I went to meet her with my 3rd wife and it is almost 4 months now and my life has changed. Now I am calm and have self esteem. My kids love me.My wife does not want divorce. But there is waiting time of atleast 15mins.
The doctor herself was very nice but the receptionist seems like a "flake." We had an appointment and she had us wait over an hour. I had reminded her a number of times that we were waiting and after every other patient had been seen she asked who i was. I was also trying to reach the doctor for weeks and left a number of messages that were never returned.
I went by the great ratings on this site and transferred to this doctor. Worst mistake ever. Long waits while checking insurance (every visit!) New office manager every visit. Sabnis herself seemed confused and aloof.
I want to thank doc for helping me out with my life long battle with anxiety and ocd. She helped me with my social security disability paper work, and finally after 2 tries I got it. I like her, she is so calm and always ready to listen to whatever you have to say.
AFTER STRUGGLING WITH MY SYMPTOMS FINALLY GOT DIAGNOSED WITH DEMENTIA. HAD NO IDEA. DR.SABNIS GAVE ME A TEST, AND REFERRED FOR RIGHT SERVICES. THANKS SO MUCH.MR.RIVERA AND FAMILY
GOOD DOC, RIGHT DIAGNOSIS. MY BOTH KIDS LIKED HER, SAID SHE IS COOL.I RECOMMEND HER.EASY TO TALK TO AND SIMPLE STYLE.
The entire staff in Dr. Sabnis' Fairfield office are terrific. They have helped me out more in the past month than other counselors/doctors have in two years!
I have nothing but good experiences with Dr. Sabnis. She is the type of doctor that everyone should have. I have never seen a doctor care for there patients the way she does (Unbelievable) This doctor has changed my life in so many ways, she has answers for everthing. All in all she is a 5 star Doctor in my book. Thank you for everything you have done for me DR. Sabnis. Sincerely, Chris M
She is NEVER on time. I have waited more than an HOUR for my appointments with her, which are ten MINUTES long. She has not solved any of my problems, and does not even tell me what she is putting me on, she just calls it in and I'm expected to take it. She sees so many patients that I feel like no more than a number with her. I am switching psychiatrists, especially now that she has taken a leave of absence for A MONTH and will have NO ONE in place for her. You can't just do that, a psychiatrist just can't leave the office for a MONTH with NO ONE covering, you just can't.
She has accurate diagnosis, and she is so simple person to deal with . My kid never talks to anyone talked with her at ease.I highly recommend her.The therapist is also so warm and wonderful.Definitely consider BRIGHTER CONCEPT HEALTH CARE SERVICES
Dr.Sabnis is a very good psychiatrist. She diagnosed me with a Mood Disorder. I always had this anxiety...always overwhelmed. She put me on a mood stabilizer and I feel great. No one till today has been this helpful. God bless.
Dr. Sabnis was suggested to me with high praise from my therapist. I had a psychiatrist but wante to change for reasons not relevant here. Dr. Sabnis' office is also a methadone clinic and the addicted vagrants come in and out coughing and hacking right and left. I got sick the next day. Dr. Sabnis herself is a very cold woman, to her I felt no more than a number. She IS a pill pusher. I told her I wasn't sleeping with 10mg of ambien so she told me to take 22.5mg, more than twice the safe maximum dose. Then she said Saphris, which is a new antipschotic good for psychosis and depression. Great, only neither are problems. Then she got mad because I kept saying no like I had no right to question her practice. Lastly, her appointments are 10 min. med checks ONLY which leaves almost no time to get anything done. I had to spill my brains out as it came off the top of my head and then I had little time to discuss (ARGUE!) medication. If you need methadone, great; she's probably the only person in CT who takes Medicaid for it. If you can pay and/or have good insurance, there are MANY better doctors out there.
She is a great docter and a therapist. She helped me immensely with my addiction. Now I am clean and leaving a healthy life. She helped me understand the 12 steps and how they help us be a better person.I like her groups and I want to thank her for everything. God bless her.
I recommend her to anyone who needs help with diagnosis. She diagnosed me with Bipolar, no one had suggested it before. She gave me the right med and my anger, anxiety and sleeplessness went miles and miles away. Thanks much much
Good doc, but staff is horrible and unproffessional. One female staff member is outright rude, sarcastic, and b*tchy.
I think Dr.Sabnis is a great docter. She is very understanding and listens to you about any thing that you have to say. She is not a pill pusher. She worked with my daughter's anxiety so well with east-west mix. She knows all kinds of meditation, and she teaches you the one that suits your problem. I recommend her highly
I highly recommend Dr.Sabnis. My son was suffering from crippling anxiety and missed lot of school. The school called DCF on me and I felt helpless and distraut. She helped me with his treatment, wrote letters and got me out of this mess. My son is well now back at school, and f DCF is out of my life. Thanks a bunch Doc.May you be blessed this holiday season.
My angel-She is extremely patient when dealing with patients in crisis mode who can be very demanding, angry and hostile and never makes you feel like you've bothered her. A patients treatment is viewed as a team effort and you never feel alone or out of the loop when decisions regarding your best treatment are being considered. The support staff and the reception is wonderful and very warm. Please visit this office if you have mental health needs.
This woman is a prime example of the ability for anyone to become a practicing doctor, brains or not. She is a pill pusher and does a terrible job with diagnosing. She messed up my diagnosis and had me taking the wrong medicine for nearly a month, imagine how that turned out...Psychiatry in itself is a terrible field filled with drug-induced cripples and addicts. It's doctors like this that make this field as controversial as it currently is.
"A very caring Physician, Dr.S is a very observant and caring doc with an excellent bedside manner. She has my complete trust for my care and is always available in a crisis or difficult time.
I really like Dr.S, she helped me tremendously with my son. I highly recommend her.
She is very smart and diagnosed me accurately. I feel so much better now.
I was struggling with anxiety and insomnia and had no luck with anything. Finally this doc helped me heal with a perfect cocktail. I am very thankful to lord that I met this doc.
I recommend this doc highly. She responds to phone calls in a timely way. She helped me with my disability ( bipolar)so much. She gave me the strength to fight the odds. I had no luck with other docs.
She is incredibly nice and helpful. I am doing wonderful on my medication. Others told me different things, and I felt I amm crazy. Today I feel godd about myself!I highly recommend her.
She is a wonderful doc helped me with my anxiety!!
She is absolutely great! Never felt this relief with her soothing voice and treatment!
I was going through severe depression.I lost my husband and my parents.Lost my job. And visited 9 doctors and finally found her.She is like an angel. She is very calm and soothing. Her medication worked miracle and I am back to life again.Got a new boy friend and got a job.Tahnks Dr.
She is a really good child docter. My kid had anxiety and was hearing things, she saved him. He is now a A grade student. May God bless her!!!
After trying 6 different doctors, I finally found the one. I have been suffering from OCD and due this my life was falling apart. This is my 4th month with this doctor and I must say that she gave my life back. She savedme from my divorce and I am able to see my children everyday. Her medications worked miracle.God bless you Dr. Sabnis,
Very nice, soothing and pleasant. Helped me a lot.
I was not able to meet with Dr. Sabnis as hoped. It became an issue of paying her prior to meeting with her to determine if she was the right fit for our child. It appears she is more concerned with bookkeeping matters rather than confirming she is qualified to treat our daughter. This is the only doctor/psychiatrist/psychologist who demanded payment prior to being hired.
Inaccurate diagnosing, didn't look in depth at problems. Never helped with real problem. Wrong medicine (many) times. Misinformed about certain psychiatric pharmaceuticals and psychiatric conditions. Over-all, I got far more unhealthy when I was a patient vs. when I was not.(Severe negative reactions with meds) Got little help for it.
She truly helped me. I was falling apart, but now I am back to being me again. Thanks a lot.
Very comforting, east to talk to , felt really good. The med worked out well. I feel great. Thanks a lot!! definitely recommend her
very cool and informative. I was able to learn about my problems. I did not need medication.
I recommend Dr.Sabnis highly. She helped me a lot, gave me life back.
can't say she gave me my life back...seemed to be a bit misinformed about some things...inaccurate diagnosing
She helped me and gave me my life back. She also knows a lot about naturopathic and holistic medicine which is wonderful .
She helped me with my problem. She is absolutely great!
Helped with my addiction and gave me my life back.
Ive been sttruggling for years with depression, anxiety and OCD. Ive very only been with her for about 2 months but I see my life getting better every day. Shes sweet and listens to all my concers. Highly recommend Dr Sabnis is you want your life back.
I was very pleased with this office. they got me an appointment right away and the dr was a very nice and pleasant person. she was able to help me with all my medical needs and was also very easy to talk to and get along with. overall i am very happy i chose this office and even though its a little bit of a drive i look forward to continuing buisiness with them. i would recomend this office to anyone lokking for help.
She is excellant. I have been feeling really good after a long battle with anxiety and OCD.
She nailed my diagnosis. I have not felt this great in a while.Thankyou Dr.S
She is very open minded, easy to talk to and never judgemental.
HORRIBLE DOCTOR GO BACK TO SCHOOL OR INDIA WHERE YOU BELONG
Excellent doctor. She takes the time to talk to you and doesn't rush you like many other physicians. She is personable and remembers you personally without looking at the chart. Highly recommended.
She seems to have some kind of deal with the Eli and Lilly Company, as those are the first and only drugs she prescribes. Her antipsycotic of choice, even if you are not psycotic, is zyprexa. Zyprexa is comparable to Haldol in terms of it's dangers and side effects. She prescribes these dangerous drugs yet doesn't tell you how long you should be on them, how to really get off, etc. So basically if i didn't get myself off, id be on that drug for years, and in two years zyprexa can destroy your brain(do some research). Every doctor I've told says what she tells me is inaccurate. She once told me I was brain damaged and would never go back to normal for smoking a little weed, yet you prescribe Zyprexa for someone who wasn't even psycotic? Even so, Zyprexa should be a last resort med given to people who cannot function or get out of bed...you should try abilify or something first. You didn't even diagnose me, you just gave me the meds...way tog o...you really know your stuff. Yale Graduate or not, it doesn't make a difference whether our bottom of your class or top...even so, I know more than she does in terms of these psychiatric medicines...
After trying with 4 physicians and many sleepless nights, this doctor found the real cause. She is calm and composed. She does not hurry.
