Dr. Barry James Krakow, MD

Had two sleep studies done. One with a dental appliance and a split study without appliance and trying several pap machines. Second study showed tolerance to ASV even though it was for less than a hour. Agreed to try ASV and was offered a loaner. Also looked into Remede implant because study showed 200+ central apneas/ hypopneas. Tried to schedule a pick up of machine. Called multiple times with no response. sent e-mails with no response. i think I have been blacklisted because I was looking at alternate treatments. Dr. Krakow was never available to discuss results of my sleep studies and has exhibited what I consider to be Bi- polar behavior. I would not recommend that you waste your time with this practice.

Overall, my experience with Dr. Krakow was negative. I spent a lot of time and money trying to treat the obstructive sleep apnea with which he diagnosed me, but subsequent testing by other practitioners showed I did not have this condition. While under Dr. Krakow's care, I called his office to ask a straightforward question regarding whether my sleep apnea (which I thought I had at the time) might impact being under anesthesia for a medical procedure I was having. Krakow called me later that day and angrily lectured me, exclaiming that my attempts to contact his office were “inappropriate”. Despite my calm explanation, he offered no understanding whatsoever.

Dr. Krakow is constantly researching sleep medicine and sleep technology. His approach to patient care is unique and effective. Additionally, he truly cares about his patients. Highly recommended.

Dr. Barry Krakow, at Maimonides has the best sleep clinic in the country. Provides excellent care, innovative, drug-free solutions to sleep problems.
