Personal Statement: I am glad to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you and share other information about myself. It is very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me. I was born in Taiwan, a beautiful island off the coast of China. My grandfather was a physician who served in the poor rural areas of Taiwan. I was inspired by his dedication to medicine to become a physician. I have lived in Southern California for most of my life, except when I went to college at UC Berkeley. When I was in medical school at USC, I decided to enter the field of kidney diseases because of the enthusiastic mentors I encountered, the many interesting diseases I learned about, and the wonderful patients I took care of. I feel honored to have patients entrust me with their care. I feel that a good patient-doctor relationship is an important part of providing quality medical care. It is a privilege for me to help members understand their concerns, have them involved in their care, answer their questions, and provide the appropriate evaluations. I strive to achieve a balanced life. I enjoy my work life, but my family life is my priority. I enjoy various activities with my young son, including playing duets on the piano with him. My hobbies and health activities involved gardening and exercising daily. |
