Patient Reviews ? Write a Review
After waiting 2 hours in the office, we saw Dr. Davis. He spoke with us for a few minutes, he seemed to be a nice guy, but he walked out saying he was getting a phone number for us and he never returned. There was no conclusion to the visit, no plan of care and no opportunity for us to ask questions. After expressing my displeasure in what I view to be less than half an appointment, she said, "Yeah, he does that. That's why I said to wait in the room and I would escort you out." I don't understand. In my opinion, Dr. Davis showed a complete lack of understanding how to communicate, how to end an appointment, and what his responsibility as a doctor is.
I too have had similar experiences as other survey responders. Arrogant and uncaring are the two descriptors that come to mind for Dr. Davis. The office does not care about patients. I can't get a call back. They won't allow me to visit for an injection and pain meds at the same time. Money is more important than people to them. Very difficult to deal with this and pain.
This guy has a serious problem. Won't come put of his office to deal with you but has a lacky as a go between. How am I supposed to explain my pain or my problem when he uses a go between and won't even talk to you. He is the doctor, not GOD! His staff which changes constantly are snarky and unfriendly, it' is nothing to wait over an hour to be seen. Follow HIS rules no compromise no discussion. It is not about the patient for him it's about the $$$$$$. This person should be investigated. I asked him to help me get off my medication and he refused! REFUSED!!! Nothing in it for him. One of these days he's going to cross the wrong line.
I wait minimum 2 hrs before being see.i was told to schedule in the morning,as it would be less backed up.i scheduledlasr appt at 745 a.m.,which is the first appt...guess what.....i wasnt called back until845....and i was the FIRST patient.he must just show up whenever he wants.AND GET THIS..i agreed to try an injectiin for pain, and asked if uo can schedule it in a months time so i could get my meds and injection at same time...he said no,he wears scrubs on tuesdays, thetefore he is in a different mode thise days,so id have to make a seperate visit for the rx,i.e.another $160 and another 2 hrs waiting for his greedy lazy butt.
1.5 hours late in seeing me. Spent 10 minutes with me and provided no help. Zero bedside manner and serious chip on his shoulder. I got up and walked out. What a waste of $200!
The Integrative Pain Center of Arizona is inconsistent, slow to follow-up and the "promises" and approach to pain care that they talk about and state on their website are a far cry from what they deliver. They don't have a sense of urgency in helping their patients. Dr. Davis always seems distracted. He bounces from patient room to patient room like a ping-ball machine. They advertise that they are patient centered, yet the scheduling, appointments, follow-up or "care plan" seem anything more than mediocre. I would get better patient-centered care at a drug-store walk-in clinic staffed by a Nurse Practitioner. The role of the "patient care coordinator" seems to be to placate the patient while the doctor is busy seeing other patients. I don't see that the patient care coordinator writes anything down or passes any questions or concerns to Dr. Davis, who is too busy to spend time with his patients. I was completely underwhelmed by my experience with Dr. Davis's practice. I think the "conceptual idea" of comprehensive, integrative, custom approaches to pain management are great. Either this place simply has internal problems, they have accepted too many patients, or they pick and choose patients that work for them and brush the other patients aside.
If you want to be treated like this or worse, go to Healthcare Southwest. They won't take any insurance or checks. Just $180.00 cash ( at least)! I am not sure, but it may be a lot more if it is a first time. Even after $300 my Mom had to make another appointment and $180.00 to get a prescription. She decided to go elsewhere. She has ins.,also. So, you see, it can get worse.
What ever happen to Dr. Patient relationship? Dr. Davis doesn't realize that without his patients he'd have no reason to be so arrogant,he'd have problems meeting his responsibilities. What ever happen to human RESPECT?
The absolute worst. My previous experience was several years at a top hospital pain center in MA so I know how a busy pain practice can work well, this place is not it. My first appointment wait was over 2 hours - for a pain practice this is unacceptable. On one occasion an elderly patient arrived 15 minutes late and the front desk told them they would have to reschedule. I am listening to this as I sit waiting for an appointment that was scheduled for thirty minutes earlier so that patient would not have been seen for ages anyway. Charge you for your script if you don't get it when you have an appointment, that tells you everything you need to know. This is a money for scripts business and they do not actually care about the patient. Random drug testing, expected and usual however - you must go into the waiting area carrying your sample bottle, in order to use the restroom. This is a little thing but adds an element of embarrassment to an already stressful situation. Avoid at all cost.
As a healthcare profession, I am truly embarrased that I referred someone else to Dr. Davis. Visit 1 was OK but nothing came out of the visit. Dr. Davis was relying on a physical therapist for diagnosis and guidance. The two of them failed to communicate for more than 3 weeks. Visit #2 happened about a month after visit 1. After waiting in the office for almost 30 min, we were called into the room. Dr. Davis instructed the patient care coordinator to relay that he could not see the patient today. The reason was not clear: possibly because he was "unable" to talk to the physical therapist for >3 weeks. Any other reason would be even worse. The patient is scared because of being turned away and still in pain. This shows no respect since the office could have called before the appointment and safed the uncomfortable drive, waiting in the office, humiliation and let down.
I cant believe that this is even a doctor. I had a accident 3 years ago in another state, I had to move to a warmer climate for part of the pain easement, The script I was on for 3 years he took me off and put me on something that was 10 times more expensive and it dident work near as well and refused to put me back on the perscription. Well the SSI has cut out my perscription care so I have to pay for meds myself. Unfortuinatly these meds are over $600 per month I cant afford this and yet he still refuses to change back to the $60 meds that I can afford. So now I have nothin for my pain. The kick backs must not have been sweet enough. If he cant make money off his patiants, He could care less about you.
I cannot believe the number of low reviews for this practice, it makes me wonder one of two things. Someone has it out for this doctor, or these are patients that are having some problem i.e., abuse pain medications, looking for pain medications, or such. I have been going to Dr. Davis and his team for over 6 years. I have found them to be caring, helpful, and their goal is functioning patients. They have helped me tremendously, I don't know how I would manage without their care. Sometimes the wait can be a little long, but that is ok with me because they take their time when the patient situation demands it, and one time it is my turn to run over in the visit. So I wait patiently when this happens. I think the same applies to procedures when they run over, it is because they are taking their time with the patient. If anything, it might be a scheduling issue. Plus plenty of patients run late, and they don't cancel you out when that happens, they try to accommodate the situation. There has been a lot of turnover in the front office, and for sure we all know the right front office people can make a world of difference. The people they have working there in 2013 are worlds better than those of the last few years. The procedures in place for managing scripts is tightly controlled, and I don't mind that either. I would rather be in a place who cares about why and how much they are prescribing, than a drug shop where a doctor dolls them out with no process. The waiting room is always full, and I see many of the same patients over the years. I also have met many people from all over Southern Arizona. I am picky and I will say I am not 100% satisfied with Dr. Davis, but I am 100% satisfied with his NP Kathy, and the care I have received and that is what matters the most. Recently I had to schedule an appointment separate from my normal appointment, and they got me into the schedule within 6 business days. I am able to have a higher level of functioning because of their care.
I HAVE BEEN A PATIENT OF DR. DAVIS FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS HE FOUND ALOT OF ISSUES I WAS HAVING THAT NO ONE ELSE HAD FOUND. HE HAS BEEN VERY CARING VERY PROFESSIONAL AND CONCERNED WITH ANY PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD. YES I HAVE GOTTEN AN APPOINTMENT WITHIN 4 DAYS MARK AND DAVID ARE AWESOME AMY HAS ALWAYS HELPED WITH MY AUTHORIZATIONS AND THEY DO CALL FOR ALL MY FOLLOW UPS. I FEEL DR DAVIS TREATS PEOPLE WITH RESPECT. HE IS A GREAT DR I DON'T CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SAY
My husband and I both just saw this doctor for the first time yesterday. The wait was long, but we both found him to be really great. Explained everything really well, spent a lot of time with each of us and for the first time in 10 years... I learned some new things about my neck, and am looking at some new diagnostic options. I think people tend to be vocal (and leave negative reviews) when they are not happy with someone. I read, but never leave reviews - in fact this is my first one - I figured Dr. Davis deserved some balance on here. I thought he was great.
waited for over 2 hours for two different appt. Arrogant, rude spent most of the visit telling me to go see my PCP because he is a "member of the health team." My PCP had never heard from him even though he told me he would communicate with members of the "team." I had the same experience as most of the other reviewers. What a waste of time. Comes highly regarded by other MDs, they clearly had never seen him as a patient. I wonder if he has a business arrangement with other MD because his referrals were just as bad!
This review is obviously was written by Davis himself, office staff, or such. First there is NO WAY possible you got an appointment in 4 days- not even as an "established" patient does that EVER Happen. I read this review and found it to be totally bogus. Even if I had a better opinion of Davis- this review is too extreme in his benefit. Fact is he is not professional, his staff is not competent, and follow up is a disaster. Do yourself a favor, do some real research and take advice from REAL patients- YOU WILL DO YOURSELF A FAVOR BY STAYING AWAY FROM THIS DR AND STAFF. Just my opinion, but you be the judge.
Some of what I had read online was not very complimentary to Dr. Davis; however, my PCP recommended him so I went with an open mind. I was blown away by his professionalism, friendly manner, his exceptional investigation into my problem, and his explanation, diagnosis and plan for treatment. All in all I am delighted to say I think Dr. Davis is wonderful, and I would recommend him to anyone who requires his services as a pain management specialist. I was given an appt 4 days after I called to make it, was called in on time, and although I had to wait several minutes for the doctor, he was very apologetic about the wait. I am happy to write this review and to commend Dr. Davis and his staff.
I agree with the majority of people here. I too had a awful experience. I wish I saw these reviews before I wasted so much time and money with Integrative Pain Center and Dr. Bennet Davis. He should be reported. Arrogant beyond belief. Is he competent? I dont think so. Misdiagonsed me. Front office staff is incompetent and the office manager Craig Campbell is just as useless.
I went to Dr. Davis for hip pain. He refused to order an MRI, only an xray of my back. During my test shots to figure out where my pain was coming from in my back, he found I had a degenerated disc with a synovial cyst. If he had done an MRI, we would have known that was the problem. He and his NA were not very comforting. After doing an out-patient procedure on me which only worked 70%, the office refuses to answer my calls. My family doctor can't even get them to answer or return calls. The procedure can be done again, but what good is it if you can't even get them to care.My family doctor is going to try for the 4th time to contact Dr. Davis to see what we should do now. If she doesn't get through this time, she is sending me to someone new. They helped me a little, but their whole staff is really bad and doesn't care about anyone. (They even refused to get me a wheelchair after my procedure, even through I was in so much pain I couldn't walk.)I Do Not Recommend them to anyone.
Waiting time on first appointment was 2 hours with no apologies, apparently this is standard for new patients as I did not wait at all when I went for a procedure. Every staff person has a different story about how medications are managed. If you don't do it right, they charge you $20 just to get your scrip. And since you have a different story from each person it is impossible to know how to do it right. I have not yet made up my mind about the doctor however he seems to be very thorough so I will stick with it for a few more appointments.
I have been a patient in this clinic for 7yrs. I have brought this clinic from my wallet and insurance. Yet when dr. Halter took a sudden LOA and could not treat me, I was told that dr Davis was going to take over those patients. He also told me he would take care of my narcotics scrips. Until I was established with a new dr. When I went in to get my scrips he said he would not write them as I wasn't his patient. Instead he gave me the name of 4rehab ctrs. And scrips for withdrawals. I had done nothing wrong but he wouldn't give me meds. He would rather have me suffer immeasurable pain. Stay very far away from this man! What happened to " do no harm"?
I am confused by the reviews. My experience with this office and Dr. have been extremely positive. All staff come across caring and sincere. Dr. diagnosed and treated my pain within expectation! We must remember, when we do not get exactly what we want, it is NOT always right to blame others.
Dr. Bennett Davis is highly regarded professional. Pain management is a difficult field and he spent a significant amount of time with me sorting out the best plan of attack. I am functioning, working and, best yet, enjoying my life.
I didn't have to wait in the waiting room for very long but after my vitals were taken I sat in the room for almost 30 min before dr davis showed up smelling like he just came back from lunch. Then his whole attitude was crap. He made me feel like I was in there wasting his time. Was very iffy about scheduling my procedure with him and decided not to go forth with it. I'm glad I changed my mind in time. Wouldn't trust him enough
did not seem to listen or care about my problem. Rude, arrogant. Did not seem able to followup. Clinic procedures not patient friendly. I would not advise anyone to go to this doctor.
Staff is unresponsive, arrogant, uncaring and cruel. I witnessed them yelling at elderly patients for no valid reason that were in extreme pain and that had been waiting inordinant amounts of time to see someone to get some relief. After the third incident in the waiting room I told staff to clean up their act and treat these people the way they deserved or I would turn them over to the health department, the better business bureaue, and the AMA. The staff was unmoved and continued to act in a surly and disrespectful manner with all patients. Wait times were often in excess of 2 hours with no apologies and admonitioned that this is just what whe had to put up with. When I was finally able to see Dr. Davis he seemed marginally interested in my pain issues and had nothing to say about his incompetent and toxic staff, His PA was sonasty that she would have been considered too aggressive for a mental hospital for the criminally insane. The best thing that could happen to this clinic is shut it down!!
Before seeing this man I thought I have seen it all. He was extremly rude, careless, and would not listen. I left the office crying. He complains about other patients (completly unprofessional). The great news is, he is leaving soon to Colorado! He clearly hates his job. A poor excuse for a doctor. Please,if you are even slightly depressed this guy will push you into severe depression. Worst doctor ever!NOT RECOMMENDED! I would rate him as a Zero but unfortunatly my rating has to be a 1 due to the setup of the rating process.
Dr. Davis is very competent in his field. But getting an appt and actually seeing the Dr. are two big problems. The NP's in this office spend most of their time keeping patients from seeing the doc. Not as good as it could be!
I would NOT recommend this outfit. There have got to be better pain doctors in the Tucson metro area. There should be a better way to find them.
If you want quality health care this place doesn't know what that is. I would NOT recommend this medical group.
