I went to see the doctor because I didn't have any hearing in my right ear. Today I have perfect hearing. Thank you Doctor O'Brien, you are a miracle worker!

Dr. O'Brien was an excellent doctor. He came to the hospital to ensure my complications were dealt with. His bedside manner was professional and pleasant. I would highly recommend Dr. O'Brien, he puts your health first and doesn't treat you as a number, but as a person.

Dr. O'Brien removed my thyroid in August, and I'm very pleased with the outcome and his care. I had to have two surgeries because of bleeding after the thyroidectomy. I have also referred other patients and friends.

 |  Good Surgeon, Terrible Bedside Manner!  |  show details
Dec 13th, 2010

Dr O'Brien removed my thyroid, for which I am very grateful. However, his bedside manner left something to be desired. His vists with me were brief to say the least. He was thorough during the consult, but after the surgery, he barely spent any time with me or my partner to make sure either of us understood follow up care. I ended up back in the ER twice after surgery because he prescribed me a pain med that could not be filled and then because of a complication. The on-call physician was most helpful. When I saw Dr O-Brien to follow up, he seemed to deny that there was a problem. He was also obviously uncomfortable with my same sex partner.
