Dr. Robert Bradley Reeves, MD

I don't know what to say, except that I am really grateful to Dr. Bradley Reeves for repairing my knee ligament. He did an excellent job. When I was 18 years old, I was drunk and tried to do a leg split for the first time without even stretching first. I dislocated my knee, and if I remember right the doctor told me then that it is irreversible knee damage but I didn't believe him. When I was 25 years old, I got into an argument with my girlfriend. I walked into the bathroom for a split second and then turned around and walked back out. For some reason, that was enough to dislocate my knee. But I wasn't really alarmed. I didn't understand the seriousness of it at all. I don't remember if I dislocated it any other times. I feel like I might have dislocated it once outside after slipping on ice, but I can't remember. All I know is that I did dislocate it a final time when I was 35 years old, right before I had to have the knee ligament surgery. I was bagging my own groceries… and I walked around the checkout lane to pay the cashier. My knee dislocated just from that simple movement, and it was the worst time ever. I couldn't jerk it back into place, and they had to call for an ambulance. I spent 8 hours at my local hospital, and then another 3 hours at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. An MRI showed that my ligament was completely torn. I am so thankful for modern day medicine and science. I can't believe that I am able to walk again, or that my knee feels completely normal. They took a ligament from a cadaver and screwed it into my knee. It is a blessing that there are humans out there who have donated their bodies so people like us can have another chance. I didn't even go to all my post-op appointments or physical therapy sessions. I quit like 1/3 or 1/2 way through. But my knee feels completely normal and it is probably stronger than it was after the first or second time I dislocated it. I have been disabled since 2002 and I have been receiving SSI since late 2005. If you are also receiving SSI and are worried about being discriminated against, you are being stupid. Since I moved to SW Minnesota from Ohio around five years ago, I have gathered that most people in the South Dakota region and surrounding areas value hard work and look down on government benefit receipients. Big deal. Just deal with it. Just be grateful that your country's goverment supports you and that you don't have to live on the streets without food, shelter, and medical care. Anyway, if Dr. Reeves is reading this, thank you.

Dr. Reeves is an excellent doctor. Since he has operated on me 4 times, my husband twice and my son once, I have lots of experience with him. If people will do what he tells them to do, he can pretty much fix everything. Excellent, excellent doctor. I know we miss him in Joplin, MO!

Dr. Reeves is arrogant and short! He doesn't like dealing with people who are less educated as himself and has a problem with patients who have medicaid (apparently it doesn't pay as well as he would like) He feels that being a doctor constitutes him making lots of money not helping people! What a wonderful feeling!
