Languages Available: German Personal Statement: Dr. Bradley Anderson was inspired to become a doctor very early. He grew up in a rural area served by a vibrant medical center. Seeing the difference medicine made in peoples lives, including his own, drew him to his career. Urology was particularly attractive, with a flexible blend of medicine and surgery. Dr. Anderson says, "If there is a less invasive way to treat a disease, urologists have always embraced it." He brings state of the art therapies to his patients. Dr. Anderson feels it is important that his patients have the option of cryotherapy. "There are certain cases where I feel that cryotherapy is the very best treatment option for certain prostate and kidney cancers." He notes that kidney cryo is "at least as effective as a partial nephrectomy with far fewer potential complications and a quicker recovery time." For prostate cancer, cryo gives an "excellent option for patients with higher grade and volume cancers. If they need or want a minimally invasive treatment, rather than surgery or external radiation, I feel that cryotherapy is the best option." For its effectiveness, patient safety, and recovery time, cryo exceeded Dr. Andersons expectations, being a top option for a broader range of patients than he originally thought. Dr. Anderson received his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He fulfilled his residencies in General Surgery and Urology at the University of Oklahoma, receiving honors during both. In addition to his practice, he is a clinical instructor and lecturer. Dr. Anderson has published and presented his research. He is certified by the American Board of Urology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Urological Association, among others. |
