Dr. Carolyn Ann Marquardt, MD

I took a month medical leave once I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Marquardt. After waiting about a week I was called and told that she was rescheduling this appointment to a virtual visit. Then, two weeks later I was called less than 24 hours before my appointment and informed that Dr. Marquardt decided that she would not be able to help me. This is ridiculous care and a complete waste of my time, and lost hours of work planning for my treatment. I will never recommend this provider to anyone.

Dr Marquardt is just the doctor I needed to manage my complex and long term treatment following my body and brain injuries. Some times, because of confusion due to my medical condition and the non personal medical experience ( I had never had medical condition), I was hesitant to trust her. But, I am glad that anyway, I follow all her treatments, referrals, and advises. In addition to the necessary medication, she also focus on diet, supplements, way to exercise regularly. Dr Marquardt was a good fit for me.Thank you for all Dr Marquardt.

I was injured at work in 2009. In 2011 my attending physician, Dr. Carolyn Marquardt sent me to UBI in Everett to help build my body strength back up so I could go back to work. I was then reinjured in the Pain Clinic (UBI) in Everett. They kept saying it's just inflammation. So I continued to lift weights (trust error #1)... With an ice pack wrapped around my waist and walk 2 miles plus on treadmill as well as aerobics all day long. After ten days in the program, I lost bowl control. I went to see the doctor who sent me there (Dr. Carolyn Marquardt) She absolutely agreed, "oh, it's just inflammation". Ran no tests or physical exam of any kind. (Trust error #2) Things just kept getting worse and they wanted me to just take Percocet and when I refused, Dr. Welsh made me feel as if this was all of my fault for not trying hard enough. (Trust error #3) I dropped out of the program about a week later. Finally, SIX MONTHS LATER, still under the care of Dr. Carolyn Marquardt, I… demanded an MRI. .... (I always ask for a copy of the report. ) When it arrived it stated "I needed emergency surgery" .... Called Dr. ...... she was on vacation for two weeks! Asked for her boss, Dr. Cole... His assistant said, "he just read the report and I need to call the surgeon, Dr. Pearce in 30 minutes because Dr. Cole needed to call him first. (Trust error #4) My first panic attack! My point,.... They covered up the lack of attention to detail (loss of bowl control) should have had surgery within 48 hours or permanent loss will occur. So I suffer for life because no one would listen to me! I know, this is more than you wanted to know about me ... but my point is, Don't just trust your doctor if your not making a positive difference. You have to live with the consequences, NOT them!!! If your doctor is NOT listening, find a new one!

I am a nurse and have done myself and seen docs do exams on countless patients. I have never seen a more thorough and precise exam done on a patient to deter.mine cause of pain, as she did on my daughter. She examined every muscle mass from point of origin to where it ends to determine any weakness and pinpoint (like a jigsaw puzzle) the exact point that the inflammation was coming from. Her treatment resolved the pain. I won't let any other doctor work on my families back.

I can't overstate Dr. Marquardt's competence. She has excellent bedside manner, explained my condition and treatment options patiently and thoroughly. She is very compassionate, particularly when she has to give me painful epidural cortisone injections. She explains the risks of long-term opiate use, but also understands that they are needed for some of the conditions that she treats. She refers to outstanding physical therapists (Gordon Browne is my favorite). I just think she is wonderful.

I regularly see Dr. Marquardt for thoracic out. She has been my doctor for seven years. Dr. Marquardt is a dedicated physician to her patients and clinical staff. She is personable and is an excellent listener which is a wonderful quality to have in a physcian when one am in pain. I recommend Dr, Marquardt highly. She is by far one of the best doctors I have seen as a result of an auto accident ten years ago.

Dr. Marquardt not only did not take the time to listen to what I had to tell her, she had a very flippant and arrogant attitude AND she misdiagnosed me. Her nurses behavior is repulsive and rude as well. After being stuck in traffic (an accident had occurred on the freeway so I called ahead to let them know I would be late) the nurse verbally scolded me in front of other patients in the lobby (2 minutes late)Happy ending though, a competent physician who took the time to read through my patient file, make direct eye contact with me, and LISTEN to what I had to say,ordered some diagnostic testing and found out the source of my SEVERE pain. I am so lucky to have found him and so thankful he helped me instead of trying to hand me off to a pain management physician. (What Marquardt wanted to do after 2 months of "treatment") So glad I went with my instinct and left her "care". STRONGLY advise you to stay away from this woman and her staff. The front desk staff are extremely nice and… helpful so no offense to them....

My brief experience with NW Spine and Sports ranks as one of the worst experiences I've had with medical "professionals." Appointments are available incredibly infrequently, and any attempt to get even something as simple as a prescription refilled resultes in a 48 hour long hassel. It required 4 calls to Dr. Marquardt's medical assistent to get any sort of progress, all the time trying to politely ignore her accusatory and condescending tone/comments, and after they actually bothered to call in the prescription they couldn't be bothered to follow up with me that it had been completed. Ultimately I became very frustrated with the assistent, while retraining myself from yelling, and demanded an apology for the way I had been treated -- this lead to my follow-up appointment being canceled and told not to come back. Thanks for the top notch medical care! Now I get to deal with the daily increasing pain of an impinged hip all by myself! Empathy is one of the most important factors in… healthcare -- something this organization lacks in perpetuity. I highly suggest to anyone with a legitimate and urgent medical issue to look for help ANYWHERE else

This doctor did not judge me because I have an old L&I claim that was over 15yr, but did the correct test to diagnose the cause finding a pinched nerve at L2. If your pain is real she will take the time to find the cause. There should be more doctors like her!

She is the best doctor I've ever had. She really listens and is creative in finding solutions to your problems. I highly recommend her!
