Patient Reviews ? Write a Review
We would recommend Doctor Hux and his staff to our loved ones and friends without any reservation whatsoever. He has gone above and beyond, not once, but in all three of my pregnancies for me and my family. This obviously is not a random occurrence but a consistent pattern of care that is second to NONE. You and staff have our sincere gratitude now and forever.
Luxurious setting, efficient staff, remarkable physicians. Will come back again for sure. Even my husband likes the feeling of serenity when we are there.
Great bedside manner, but my mom, my sister and I all had our daughters and sons with Dr. Hux for over 43 years now altogether and he always diagnosed our problems in a timely and accurate manner. The truth is we would all be afraid to go somewhere else. We depended on him and his girls at each and every one of the pregnancies. We suspect that their children would too, if we should be so lucky that he would still be practicing that long. ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM!
I read all his patient reviews here and are not surprised that they are so overwhelmingly positive. I have a normal pregnancy, no complications. My appreciation for his office went beyond his expertise in treating me. Dr. Hux did something which I think no doctor would have done. He discounted my bills to nothing when he learned that I had just went through a divorce and cannot afford to pay his bills. I am eternally grateful to him. NOBODY has ever helped me that way in a medical office. VERY, VERY COMPASSIONATE!
Although we have financially assisted patients many times before, not everyone is as gracious as you in reciprocating this action with kind words. We feel that out of all the fields, medicine should distinguish itself and clearly stand out in its "delivering" of compassion to patients, not just patients' babies. It's not that we are unaware some may deem this to be unwise, but WE deem it to be unkind not to. Giving back to the community is what makes us truly proud of what we do. In my opinion, having the expertise in my field alone is simply not enough to constitute a good doctor. Possessing a solid moral compass is just as important. Your comments endeared you to us. I hope your future is filled with love from your newly expanded family. Keep in touch...
I have a TYPE 1 Juvenile Diabetic and it's so hard to find a high risk OB who is actually Board Certified in high risk pregnancy to treat me. I went to 2 doctors who claimed they can treat high risk patients, just to find out they are NOT board-certified in high risk, only in regular OBGYN. I was so upset until I found Dr. Hux. He had treated so many TYPE 1 before. Feel very comfortable and safe under his care. What's more?! He and his staff are available 24/7 days per week. He called me back 3 times during my pregnancy, all after 2 AM. Thank God, finally!
It's common that you should feel anxiety and major concerns being a Type I diabetic during your pregnancy. You are not alone in feeling that way. Yes, some general obgyn do choose to treat high risk patients but we certainly were glad that you knowingly sought us out. Feel free to contact us anytime with questions or problems with your diabetes. Hope to see you again soon.
Both my sister and I had heard of Dr. Hux while we were still in England. Now that we are in the U.S., Iwould never miss a chance to be under his care. surprisingly, he is so humble despite his renowned status. He carried me and my daughter out to 39 weeks. NO ONE has done that in all my 4 pregnancies. My daughter would be normal size growing up now. My sister also was so pleased with his care. I am so indebted to Dr. Hux.
As you know, we all felt honored that you came searching for us from England. Glad you liked Dr. Hux's book and TV shows. He was estatic to be able to bring about such an excellent outcome and your daughter is healthy. Both you and your sister are such a pleasure to know. We missed you already. Stop by with the babies so we can take some pics.
I will never put our lives in the hands of anyone else with all the medical problems I have. Dr. Hux took care of all my children.
Dr. Hux and his wonderful staff always take great care of me when I'm in the office. In my experiences with doctors of this kind, this practice exceeded my expectations!!
I will never get over how horrible this doctor is. No compassion at all and doesn't open himself up to any questions. I never felt comfortable with him. I went to ER because of a very high fever (103 degrees) my first trimester. He was bothered that the hospital called him over a weekend. I must have messed up his weekend plans. I changed doctors and my experience with the new doctor was completely opposite. So glad I didn't stay with Dr. Hux. I really don't understand all the hype over him.
Great diagnostician, skilled clinician, humble personality, beautiful and comfortable office. Knowledgeable staff.
Love his new office!! There are weekend hours there. This is great for me because I am always so busy. My husband wanted to tag along and he's all happy that he can now. Wish it was a little closer to my home. Dr. Hux is very professional but easy going. This practice has always been so good to us. We wanted to have 3 children. This is our second one. We are glad, God willing, we'll have a third one under his care in the future.
I heard Dr. Hux is the authority in his field. My mom wanted me to go to HER obgyn who delivered me so I used Dr. Hux as my high risk obstetrician. I had so many miscarriages more than I care to remember and recurrent UTI to make it even worse. I knew I needed the best of the best. Nobody is more experienced. Dr. Hux is so humble, easy to understand. He took the time to explain to me how these conditions may affect my baby. He talked at my level and did not make me feel intimidated like other doctors. I wholeheartedly recommend him and wished I had him for my regular obgyn. I heard he has more doctors working for him now and a new office in Brick. Love him and his staff, what can I say!
It's not often that I write about my experiences with doctors but for an excellent diagnostician and clinician, Dr. Hux is very humble. I get so addicted going to his office and get all those color 3d/4d pics of my boy. I look forward to my next pregnancy just to be under his care again.
I was told you had to wait a bit before you are seen in his office but that nobody is more experienced than him in the field, so I chose him as my high risk doc anyway. I am over 40 years old. I had a few healthy pregnancies but this one has been nothing but problems. I developed preeclampsia at 30 week. Instead of taking any chances when the protein level was high in my urine and my face and arms showed signs of edema, he immediately had me go to the hospital so I can treated with magnesium. Had an inexperienced doctor missed these signs I could have had a stroke and die in the next few days. Dr. Hux spent endless time with me to make sure I was ok. My baby was small at birth but is doing great. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for his expertise. Dr. Hux truly is one of the most humble, caring, wonderful human beings there are. I don't care even if I had to wait 3 hours to see him! HOW CAN YOU PUT A VALUE IN HUMAN life. I would never go anywhere else
I came to Dr. Hux very depressed and worried at 23 weeks. I had developed premature aging of the placenta. I was totally devastated that my regular OB dumped me and no other doctors would treat me. I don't know how they do it there at his office but within couple of weeks of arrival, I completely felt different. His staff were so genuinely caring and reassuring. I no longer feel like a reject. I cried when I think about what a difference the right doctor and the right environment can really changed the way you feel about your whole pregnancy. My baby girl was born 5lb and 11oz. but healthy. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hux. He is humble, quiet, a gentle and so talented of a professional. He was sympathetic about my situation and treated me with kid's gloves, answered all concerns, very patience. I am a last minute transfer but didn't feel unwanted at all. I felt stupid since I should have come to him earlier with all the recommendations from my friends and all. Love him and his staff. I will see you guys again and again and again!
First and foremost, once you step foot in this office, you will wish you came sooner!! Every single person Dr. Hux has working for him is nicer than the next. My husband and I made a joke to ourselves because everyone is so caring and welcoming. Dr. Hux is amazing at what he does. Have no fear with him because he really knows his stuff!! He put me at ease with my pregnancy, and I sailed through the 40 weeks with him like it was a day at the beach. Never a long wait, and you feel like you are on a personal level with everyone there. I am very happy to have the pleasure of meeting him.
Dr. Hux was amazing! I came to him at 15 weeks pregnant, immediately after major abdominal surgery due to an abyss infection that the hospital said was one of the worst ever, no less in a pregnant woman! He and his wonderful staff carefully followed me closely weekly when needed, always giving me all the information. THE FEW TIMES I HAD TO CALL AFTER HOURS, HE IMMEDIATELY CALLED BACK, EVEN FOUGHT MY INSURANCE COMPANY ON A FRIDAY NIGHT FROM HOME to get my medicine covered! Thanks to him, we now have a healthy and developmentally advanced little boy. After 4 rounds of fertility treatment and the infection, I thought it was not possible, but Dr. Hux helped make it happen.
Experience has taught us that patients do not prevail over complex medical conditions by having an experienced or devoted doctor alone. It is much dependent on patients'will-power and positive outlook on life. We are so grateful for your comments but it is YOU that majorly contributed towards your recovery and triumphant outcome. As to fighting an insurance company on Friday night from home to get your med covered, well, not only is that our pledge and duty to patients, I humbly think being a good doc and making a patient totally comfortable and happy are not just about "experience" alone but also compassion in mitigating patients financial expenditure - whenever possible. Call us anytime, about anything, pregnant or not....
I have watched Dr. Hux on a Baby Story, TLC, I always admired him and never dreamed I would have the pleasure to meet him. Four years ago I had a tubal reversal (I have 4 children and thought I was done...) God had other plans, and as soon as I needed to find a high risk doctor, I knew it HAD TO BE Dr. Hux! He is more than I could ever imagine, takes his time to make you feel almost as if you're his only patient. His staff is amazing and I have never felt so SAFE, thanks to Dr. Hux. I cannot rave more about the ultrasounds...you get spoiled seeing your little one each visit. I thank you Dr. Hux and his entire beautiful staff for all they do and have done for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Do you even know how much we have missed you here and your beautiful family? Well, maybe all the cookies you baked us, too. A beautiful and caring patient with an amazing cooking skill, what more could we have asked for ?? Stop by and say hi, would you and don't forget to bring the cookies. :-) The Staff at SPA.
I love this whole office, the staff was amazing professional and reassuring. The dr amazing really felt comfortable that he knew what he was doing and had a good bedside manner. I look forward and feel comfortable giving birth with him.
We deeply appreciated your thoughtfulness and kindness. It means so much to my baby daughter and me. You helped to bring my healthy baby into this world and now she is a part of my husband that I will cherish always. She keeps me strong. Your special care and generosity is appreciated more often than you know.
Does not have hospital privledges, even if he tells you so!
As a person with a chronic condition and who has seen doctors for a long time, I can honestly say that DR. HUX HAS BEEN THE MOST EXPERIENCED, KINDEST, MOST HUMBLE DOCTOR I've ever been to. In addition, his staff has been wonderful for both of my pregnancies. They answered my questions and have been probably the best staff I've dealt with as a person who has been to doctors offices my whole life. He truly takes the time to monitor the health of my baby and myself. I have Type I diabetes, which means my pregnancy needs to be closely monitored for the safety of the baby and myself. He would answer any of my questions and I always felt comforted with his assurances that the pregnancy was going well. My son was my first baby, so I was filled with worry and he alleviated my fears. I have a beautiful, healthy son because I had an excellent, caring doctor in Dr. Hux. Now in 2015, again, the ONLY DOCTOR I wanted to go to was Dr. Hux. HE IS THE BEST HIGH RISK DOCTOR AND I WHOLEHEARTEDLY RECOMMEND HIM.
I have had 3 healthy pregnancies, 3 beautiful girls! Dr. Hux has helped me through all the problems, all the crying, all the happiness. Life is full of tremendous obstacles. It's so much better when you can go through it with someone who is confident as a doctor. I had a craniotomy and a brain meningioma removed. When we found out we were pregnant with our 4th, we were happy yet very nervous. Having Dr. Hux on our side really helped us! Thank you for all you've done. I would recommend him to everyone. He CARES. He will make sure I'm around for these kids and our new baby. THANK YOU!!
You are one of our most courageous patients. It is that unflinching courage that has carried you through all life's challenging obstacles. It is my job and commitment to care for patients like you. I can only wish that I am here as long as possible to continue to contribute towards your health, your baby and that of our local community. Your comments are much appreciated.
Dr. Hux does not care about the mother's health at all. He barely listens to any concerns you have and rushes you through all of your appointments. When I was showing obvious symptoms of preeclampsia (high blood pressure and severe swelling), he could not have cared less. I was never given a 24 hour urine and he acted like it was no big deal. Needless to say, post-partum I almost had a stroke due to a blood pressure spike that I only caught because of my own intuition (almost 200/105). Please do not use this doctor. He may be knowledgeable, but that won't do you any good if he isn't listening to what you are telling him. He is the worst.
First of all, I would like to thank you for your constructive criticism. As an individual, I will try my best to never make a patient feel unappreciated again. Our practice, as a whole, cannot improve our patients' management and satisfaction if we ignore comments on areas that we should improve. On a personal level, I feel sad that I have inadvertently caused my patient to feel rushed and disregarded at an appointment. Patients often think that my quiet demeanor and humble way can often be misinterpreted as being detached. Medically, I further apologize for not having explained clearly to you that the 24 hour urine is not the only way for us to confirm pre-eclampsia. For instance, we also confirm this with the combination of blood work results, blood pressure and dipstick. Post-partum, due to the frequent variation in blood pressure in the hospital, after discharge and at home, even within the same day, the presence of a significant rise in pressure necessitating further medication may not be present at your post-partum check up. I wish you well and that you understand I do take patients care very seriously. Thank you, again.
I could never go to anyone else
I began my pregnancy with a lot of scares, from getting a false positive toxo result, to doctors forgetting to check my thyroid levels and finally being diagnosed with incompetent cervix that no one wanted to touch. they just wanted me to wait for my baby to die. Anyway I knew I needed to get in the care of someone that wanted to save my little girl's life. I had heard of Dr. Hux from my new OBs that I recently switched to so after being told nothing could be done by another MFM. I called the wonderful Dr. Hux and told my story I wasn't even a patient, He had no records, but knew my situation was serious. He took me in his care that day and sent me to the hospital to put me on bed rest in trensenburg (sp.) Then checked for infections and monitored my cervix. He caused my cervix to grow from 1.8 cm to nearly 4 cm by keeping me in trensenburg and successful performed the certlage. Now my baby has a chance. The man has an amazing gift and I could never begin to explain how grateful i am. If you are high-risk GO TO HUX. He is sweet, attentive, great bed side manner, very calming and pretty much a genius. I love him and I look forward to being in his care.
You are one of a kind. You took the time to write this heart-warming and moving review about your experience. Despite how hard a doctor tries, there are always times when patients would still feel dissatisfied but it is comments like these that not only made our day but gives us the courage, conviction and determination to continue to try our very best for patients. The medical malpractice costs often cause doctors to practice defensive medicine as opposed to prioritizing patients care. As a result, the more challenging medical conditions are not being touched by many physicians. I just wholeheartedly believe that these patients are the ones that need me the most. The reward for me is that having handled so many difficult cases made me a better doctor, but more importantly, it saves lives. I cannot imagine what else is more important. I thank God that your baby is alive and healthy! Your comments about me having a gift...and a genius are much, much appreciated but I think I am just very emotional and compassionate about patients care and love babies - not having any of my own.
Having had 2 miscarriages after my son was born, I don't think that I would have had my baby girl Ava (now 3 years old) if it weren't for Dr. Hux. Dr Hux took the time to take tests and was the only Dr. who helped me! The other doctors didn't seem to care about my miscarriages or even suggest that additional testing be performed. I ended up having to take a baby aspirin every day and I used Dr. Hux as my high risk Obstetrician when I got pregnant. Love him!!! I'm so glad that I found Dr. Hux!!!!!
Office Staff is good & most of the staff is very friendly. The ultrasound tech is great. But felt rushed out at every visit with Dr. Hux like he barely wanted to be bothered. Doesn't make you feel comfortable. My regular doctor and new specialist give more information and discuss things without me even having to ask. Beware if you have an emergency and need his help. He can't be bothered. He may deliver many healthy babies but there are other doctors that do the same. My current doctor may not be on the Baby Story show but he is just as competent and is very professional and friendly. And I feel just as competent. We learned things this current pregnancy that we weren't aware of with our first pregnancy about the testing because my new doctor explains everything. Another note is that Dr. Hus was asked to leave a couple hospitals because he didn't put his patients first. He put the Baby Story show first. Not the type of doctor I would recommend.
I lost my baby at 5 months due to a rare form of dwarfism. The baby would have never survived after birth so I had to be induced. It was a long, traumatic experience but Dr. Hux was wonderful. I trusted his medical diagnosis; he even got me in to see a pediatric heart specialist just so I could get a 2nd opinion the day I found out I would lose my baby girl. He stayed at the hospital for a lot of the time that I was in labor and assured me that it would never happen again; that the odds were in our favor for the next pregnancy. I will be seeing him the next time I am pregnant, which could be right now!
