I specialize in primary care sports medicine. I enjoy treating the entire athlete/patient. I have a special emphasis in interventional and diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound. I believe in treating the entire patient/athlete with individualized care. I want to help the patient be an active participant in his or her treatment options. My goal for patients is to help them return to their sport as quickly and as safely as possible. At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I enjoy working with Ohio State?s athletic department as a team physician. I also enjoy teaching and interacting with fellows, residents and medical students. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, the outdoors and spending time with my wife and our two dogs.

Dr Hartz rushed, didn't listen, and misdiagnosed me totally. He seemed friendly, but didn't listen at all. One I realized the misdiagnosis he insisted he was still right. It was the wrong body part on the wrong side of the body. It's like he had someone else's records but insisted it was me. He did such a poor job it was surreal.

I saw Dr. Hartz following a serious horseback riding accident. He and his staff, including the resident who also saw me, made me feel very comfortable throughout my exam, x-rays, and follow-up. I appreciated him taking the time to listen to the details of my accident, and how he was able to express the severity of my injury without unnecessarily alarming me. I would recommend Dr. Hartz.

Dr. Hartz was very thorough and professional when in came to caring for my son after a sports injury. We never felt rushed during appointments. Quite the opposite, actually. He took time to answer any questions we had, and he made sure we understood the treatment plan moving forward.

Dr. Hartz seemed focused but only spent a few minutes with me and when he stepped out I had not realized the appointment was over. In the end I was misdiagnosed by him and wasted time and money, while still in pain afterwards.

Horrible. Did not spend time with me (less than 5 min) and never came back after X-ray to discuss diagnosis. Sent nurse in to do all work and nurse was not even well equipped with answers I needed. Would not recommend.
