Dr. Daniel R. Tershak Jr. Jr, MD

I had a hiatal hernia repair performed by Dr. Tershak. I DO NOT recommend this surgeon. I was given only two days of oxycodone after surgery. That was followed by a prescription for Ketorolac which was worthless for controlling my pain AND DANGEROUS. Here's the quote from Drugs.com. "Ketorolac may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal. These conditions can occur without warning while you are using Ketorolac, especially in older adults. You should not take this medicine if you already have bleeding in your stomach or intestines" perfect for someone who's just had surgery due to an ulcerated esophagus. Along with Ketorolac I was prescribed Methocarbamol. It is muscle relaxer which was totally ineffective. Two weeks after the surgery I'm having severe neck and shoulder pain along with lower back pain. This is called "referred pain" and I have no effective medication to treat it. If I had known this I would NOT have had the surgery.

I had several fatty tumors removed from my legs. After being in the recovery room for a long time, the sheet was pulled back and my legs were huge with many hematomas. I was rushed back to surgery, operated on again - awake because I had eaten some crackers. The doctor announced he would never operate on me again - that was encouraging. Follow-up was terrible, terrible, terrible. I kept going back to his office to see the PA, once I went to the emergency room. I wrote to him about the way my legs looked, especially in one place, and he said it was normal. That was Monday, I had an appointment on Thursday with another doctor and just "by the way" showed him my legs, he said I needed to be seen that day. Once again back to the PA for cleaning out this terrible yellow, black, blue, pink hole in my leg. When finished I was shocked at how deep and wide the hole was. I will never wear shorts again, will always wear support hose because my circulation in my feet and ankles is not… good, and always sleep on my back because my legs hurt too much if I am on my side. So . . . I had a very bad experience with Dr. Tershack. One thing that totally ticked me off was that he NEVER checked on me. This should have been a very simple operation but turned into a nightmare. Once again, he NEVER followed up. It has been over a year and my legs are freakish - no swim suits or shorts for me - ever. Did I mention he NEVER followed up?

I've use Dr. Tershak for all three of my colonoscopy procedures and found him to be very personable and skilled. He explained the procedures and results well and fully. I enjoyed his sense of humor, as well. Absolutely no complaints. He keeps up with the advances in surgical techniques and prescribed the least complicated but very effective preparation protocols for my colonoscopy.
