Dr. Deborah Lee Hickey, DO

I notice the negative reviews have one thing in common- people complaining because they came in thinking they knew what they needed and didn't get what they wanted. Dr. Hickey helped me through my depression with compassion and also candor. Not all feedback is flattering and fun to hear, but she was honest and a good listener. She worked with me to figure out how some of my thinking and behaviors were holding me back, and we were ultimately able to find a medication regimen that worked for me. Thank you, Dr. Hickey!

My Son has seen Dr. Hickey for Three years now for Severe Anxiety and OCD.He is also learning disabled with three attemps at finishing Highschool/GED testing that could not be accomplished because of his learning issues as well as the Anxiety/OCD. My son is so bad that he can spend hours staring at the walls completely incapaciatated by his Anxiety,or hours doing compulsions because of his OCD along with many anxiety-ridden sleepless nights. My son regulary says he would be much better off if he were to just jump off the Narrows bridge.I fear for him as he finds living with his condition so difficult and his facing the reality of not being able to accomplish his goals for completing school or job training leaves him very depressed. Apparently she believes that a child who spends hours staring at the walls or doing compulsions for endless hours because of OCD and who has not and can not finish schooling or job training is NOT disable and fully capable of working.Her solution is to just… STOP doing the compulsions and just STOP having Anxiety!Yea, and a woman who is pregnant should just STOP being PREGNANT!She said WE as his parents would be MAKING him disabled if we got him finacial and Medical coverage for meds through SSI and that she would not help us get him SSI.Her entire attitude is that we are not trying to help our son but that we are HURTING him. Upon leaving her office she also refused to fill my sons prescription because she did not like my husband and I telling her the truth about what we thought of her lack of understanding of his issues and what he really deals with daily.We reminded her that he gets physically ill if he runs out of his medication{Nausea and Dizziness}yet she still refused to write the prescription for him. As my son started to have a meltdown in the office she apologized to him and said "I am sorry they put you in the middle of this" and his reply was "I am NOT in the middle!" It's his LIFE we are dealing with here and she is playing GOD! A very uncompassionate god!If my son totally gives up and does jump off a bridge with no MEDS, she WILL be sued for MALPRACTICE. At the least, this woman leared nothing from her SO-CALLED education and needs to do people with mental disorders a favor and QUIT PRACTICING! Be warned, this woman does not help at all! She vioated the first rule of medicine and that is to do no harm! Refusing help and medication refills when she knows he needs them is worse than CRUEL. I guess someone had to graduate lowest in class!

Ms. Hickey was quick to diagnose me but did not listen to my concerns. When She discovered that we were not on her "Ideal" insurance to bring her in the biggest bucks her staff point blank called my home and said she refused to assist me until I made more income. WTH? This was a terrible experience. People with anxiety already get hassled by a so called professional is wrong.

I went to see her for depression few months ago. First of all, she was wearing ill fitted top, her half of stomach was showing while I was talking to her which was very unprofessional. I thought only people dress lilke that is the type of people you see in the street advertising their services. She prescribed $250 medications, and I was having financial difficulty at that time, so I asked her if she could find genetic ones that I could afford before trying the expensive medicine. Also, I explained that i have so much allerty and reactions to medications. She did not even speak to me directly and had the receptionist called me to explain that it was the ONLY medicine would work for me and refused to consider anything else. She never even responded herself and communicated through the receptionist only. So, her receptionst was discussing my medical conditions with me, and I do not think its appropriate under HEPPA. I asked receptionist how does doctor would know if I would have… allergy or not since she is not internal physician. Her receptionist kept repeating same thing and refused to help me. Later she billed me for $250, and the insurance co paied $200. She billed me for $50 and I called her office to explain I was having tough time, that I would pay her later when I get caught up with my situation. 2 months later, she referred me to the collection agency without billing me or calling me and charged intterest and fees for $15.00 in addition to $50. So $15 equivalent to 150% inerest on an annual basis. WOW. Do you want to go see this doctor? What I think of this woman? She is totally ignorant, arrogant, unprofessional, and she is more concerned about her money than the patients. And most of all, have your receptionst talk to patient? Her receptionist should be a doctor then. She made herself completly unaccessible to her patient by hiding behind her receptionist. I do not know why. Serisouly, her license should be revoked for lack of patient care, unprofessional manner, and have receptionist discuss medications with patients. I could not recommend her in good conscience even if she paid me $100,000. uui

she was very insensitive to my issues; she did not show she really cared about my problem; i did not like her and do not recommend her. I have dealt with much better professionals than her.

I would recommend Dr. Hickey to anyone who is looking for a doctor that is respectful and interested in truely helping you.
