Dr. Denny Tang, MD

I met with Dr. Tang to have him evaluate a weak area in my abdomen, that I was afraid might possibly be a hernia or something that would eventually evolve into a hernia. After my evaluation he said I needed surgery to repair a tear in multiple directions, I underwent the surgery to repair and when I awoke I was told that it was not able to be repaired so he placed abdominal mesh. I was never told the name of the product that was implanted, 3 weeks later I was admitted to the hospital because I had gone into septic shock due to an infection I picked up during my time in hospital. When I was admitted Dr. Tang had been away, I was looked after by a colleague. After not being able to support an IV in my arms, it was decided by his colleague and an infectious disease doctor to have a Pick line put in, and that I'd be going home on IV antibiotics for a few months once I was strong enough to be discharged. That afternoon after my pick line was placeed Dr. Tang return from his trip, informed… me they would be pulling my pick line and sending me home on pills. Thank God my family and his colleague stepped in! His was then removed from my care! I spent 4 months on antibiotics and two years later due to the mesh and the infection, I had to have a repeat surgery to remove the mesh, and a Seroma I developed due to the infection and my body trying to reject the mesh! Tang should not be allowed to continue treating patients, his bed side manner was awful, and his infection rate is terrible!! Stay away!!! I was one of numerous people who also share the same or very similar story!

When does a Dr go from yes you have cancer strait to we'll just operate and put a bag out your side!? No in between discussions just his way! No chemo to try to shrink it, nothing. Just whambam thank you mam! No thank you!!

If you have a loved one who needs a Colo-rectal Surgeon, PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW DR. TANG to PERFORM SURGERY! How could Dr. Tang allow my loved one's cries of extreme pain after Dr. Tang's surgical procedures fall on his "deaf ears"?!!! Only to find that my loved one's cries of excruciating pain were from abscesses due to his poor surgical skills!!! How could Dr. Tang be allowed to send home my loved one with pus seeping from the incisions he has made, only to state that it will heal by itself?!!! It is incomprehensible how a Surgeon can perform surgery and then not be able to answer precisely how much of the colon he had removed to the patient and family!!! It now appears obvious that the vague explanations and illogical answers that were given to the questions by the patient and family after surgery definitely shows lack of knowledge , expertise and care. The Medical Board needs to be made aware and medical disciplinary actions need to be taken on such an inept physician as Dr. Tang!… Since the procedure, we have heard that other professionals in the Valley have experienced the same kinds of outcome with some of their loved ones!!! Who is in the operating room checking Dr. Tang's expertise, knowledge and performance skills, as well as his written operative recordings making certain they are complete and ACCURATE? Anyone?!!! Again, if you have a loved one who needs a Colo-rectal Surgeon, PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW DR. TANG to PERFORM SURGERY!

I would recommend Dr. Tang because I had a problem that he diagnosed correctly and was able to fix. Another doctor had diagnosed it incorrectly, and said that I would have to live with it.

Dr tang has some bad bedside manners, when in office he never exams you and he also does not really let you explaine to him your pain you are having. I had a few surgeries done by him and he came in at discharge never asked how i was feeling, i have infections in me from the surgeries and he totally by passed the blood results. He never explained to me what he did, and i had to go in one week later because of pain and he said it was acid reflux i was having, but never ran any test and or exammed me. If i could i would give him a big fat red F or ZERO because he is no good. Also he makes sure he only follows up one time after surgery and then never again after that. If you call to get in they refuse you treatment with him. But if i were people i would shop around for a very good surgeon and not go to this one or any of the ones in with him. I never heard you only get one follow up visit from a surgeon after a major surgery. But in my case that is all i got and then get refused to even… see him. If he is only for colon and rectum he better remove general surgery from his name. And then why were my surgeries done if it had nothing to do with the colon or rectum? But if you like a doctor who refuses treatment, who goes and diagnoses you with something that is totally not wrong with you, one who has the worst bedside manners any person could ever have, one that just by passes your test results, and one who refuses to listen to your pcp at the first time treatment then feel free to have him. But i would not even let him see or touch even my animal.

I have had 2 surgeries done by dr tang and still suffering with abdominal pains. One visit he said he would do exploratory surgery on me if the pains kept up since the scans that acmh was reading so called showed nothing, but i go to a different emerancy room and i have stuff showing what is wrong. I call to schedule a appointment and get told he never wants to see me back. My gi doctor agrees on the exploratory but i cannot get into the office for a appointment. Also he does not have good bedside manners at all. He does not exam you, he just sits there and talks, and when you try to explaine your pain he mainly calls you a liar. I went in a week after my surgery (second) because i was in worse pain than before and he did not exam me at all but he has said it was acid reflux, when i was not even having it. I am still in a lot of pain, but after being told he does not want to see me back, it looks like a lawyer and the medical board is notified. Overall he is a nice guy, but does not… really know what he is talking about. If you like doctors just taking a guess without doing scans or scopes then go for him, otherwise shop around for a real surgeon. I had no other choice since my pcp got me him when i was rushed into the hospital. But in my opinion he is no good. After surgeries he only follows up with you one time.
