Dr. Dorcas Mouray Eaves, MD

Had a horrible appointment today with Dr. Dorcas Eaves. Not sure if she thinks being a surgeon makes her too good to treat minor injuries (she made sure to tell me she was a surgeon who knows everything) but the way she treated me as her patient was completely unacceptable. I've never been treated this way by any healthcare professional in my life. She was rude, talked over me, criticized me to the point where I was crying. I was in pain and looking for help but felt like she invalidated all of my concerns and didn't want to hear anything I had to say. She also did not take the time to explain anything she said. When I started crying she looked at me and walked out the door. The office staff were all very nice and helpful. Management apologized and they refunded my visit. Update - reviewed the doctor’s transcription notes the next day and there were several statements on there that were totally false or fabricated. Very frustrating on top of everything else.

II liked Dr. Eves. She seemed very down to eath

Very informed doctor, and willing to listen to concerns

My wife went to see Dr. Eaves for what seemed to be an infected spider bite. When she finally got around to seeing us, Dr. Eaves immediately asked if my wife had ever had chicken-pox. "Nope" - to which Dr. Eaves replied with "Oh you have, but just didn't know it." OK... She then said the welt and swelling was caused by localized herpes outbreak. The doctor seemed to care little about hearing why we were not sure her "diagnosis" was correct. She was argumentative and emphatic that her diagnosis was spot-on. Well, it was off to another urgent-clinic to get a second look. At the next facility, with no leading-the-doctor, the immediate diagnosis was spider bite. This doc took the time to closely examine the welt, seeing an initial bite location. The give away was also the fact that there was infection (hot around the area, and swollen). Asked if it could potentially be anything else, the doctor replied, "no, that's a classic spider bite, and we've had couple others today - it's the time… of year when we see them". Off to a pharmacy to get both an oral and topical antibiotic, and within 12 hours, the swelling is subsiding, as is the heat. The clinic where we saw Dr. Eaves has been excellent in the past (that's why we went there this time), and we may even go back, but we'll call before to see who's on duty.

This doctor is very incompetent. I don't know who's rating this doctor highly but she couldn't even do simple medical procedures and no sense of how to provide after care. If this doctor actually got patient care awards, then God help us all....the medical competency is now questionable and patient trust is dwindling.
