Dr. Dorothy Marian Moore, MD

Dr Moore is very professional and excellent doctor. She is very efficient going through all steps of the exam. She gives time to answer any questions and explanations. We decided on Dr Moore after experiencing an emergency eye injury with our son at age 10. After going to AI and she had just left the hospital the hospital staff called her in for the emergency, a hyfema ( rare bleeding in the eye) she told us to meet her at her office saving us hospital expenses. She treated him with such care for a few weeks with a full recovery and no loss of site, Even when this was years ago she still is an excellent doctor. The staff is welcoming and proficient as well. A well run office.

Dr Moore is pleasant, professional & focused. She is a physician with years of experience and knowledge that put you at ease. I’m impressed how thorough & comprehensive her exam is done with ease. She also allows time for questions with review. I would also compliment her assistant who completed initial part of checkup facilitating the appointment. Front Office & All Staff did a great job!

Dr Dorothy Moore was extremely condescending unprofessional and disrespectful every step of the way. Avoid this doctor if you can, she does NOT care about her patients well being.

I accompanied a family member and as an RN I am particularly attuned to hand washing. Dr. Moore did a thorough exam, touched pretty much everything in exam room then applied eye drops to the patient! Later her tech came in did a few.things and again no washing and placed eye drops. I was stunned but family member asked me not to make a fuss. Also tech stated Dr. Moore doesn't test for glaucoma just looks for other signs. When patient asked Dr. Moore about glaucoma she stated he didn't have it and his pressures were normal. What!

The one thing everyone hates is going to the doctor with an appointment time only to have it drag out to be seen 45 minutes to an hour later. This has happened every time at her office. Fortunately for our family, she's a good doctor, and that's what's comforting; however, if she weren't local, I'd probably only have seen her once due to the long office wait times. Getting an appointment is easy... getting to see her on time is pretty much impossible.

First I would like to address a comment I saw from February, I completely disagree with that statement posted! I am always greeted professionally and politely with a smile by the front desk staff whenever I come into the office. Also I would like to know what that person considers as "dirty" because the office was pretty spotless and they always pull out sterilized instruments and clean off the equipment right in front of me before using. Yes the equipment seems somewhat out dated but if they work and do what they are suppose to why does that matter? There is usually a wait time for many doctor offices so not sure what the big deal is about waiting, I personally never had to wait more then 30 min. I feel Dr. Moore and her staff are always friendly and professional whenever I am there for an appointment and always accommodate my needs. I would highly recommend her practice to anyone looking for a great ophthalmologist!

I've been to Dr. Moore 1 time and she was great to me! She told me what was wrong and gave me the help I needed. The sensitive and pain went away instantly. Dr. Moore's staff was great to me and handled my insurance needs right away! Dr. Moore's tech was very professional in getting my prepared to see her. I've also heard that she is highly recommended by other Ophthalmologists and patients for double vision and Pediactric muscle surgery. If I had to take my children to an Ophthalmologist, Dr. Moore would be first on the list!

I have been a patient with Dr. moore, on and off for 13 years or so. Over the years I have tried finding alternative ophthalmogists, because of negative issues with Dr. Moore. First, she has a terrible bedside manner. Trying to engage her in convesation about my specific vision issues is always a chore, with poor results. Second, the office waits have been terribly long (although they seemed somewhat better managed in recent years). Tird, her office stafs are the rudest, most unprofessional office staff I have ever encountered. So why have I continued coming bak to her? Because none of the alternatives I tried were much better, i.e. while personalities were better elsewhere, exam was inferior. Years ago when I took my son, ~9 at the time, for an exam she exhibited not much better bedside manner with him, either. I feel she knows her specialty, but does not deliver in overall business. I have not needed surgery, so I do not have any information on this aspect of her ability.

Dr. Moore treated my 8 yr. old son very impatiently. She rushed us in and out of the office. I found her to be very condescending and couldn't wait to leave. A week later, my son had an eye test at his pediatrician's office and he was 20/30. I was told he could have used a stronger prescription but this one will do for now. When I told my pediatrician how we were treated, she said that was probably why the prescription was slightly off. I would definitely NOT refer anyone to Dr. Moore.

My two year-old daughter had an urgent appointment with Dr Moore, and I was very impressed. She was knowledgeable and precise and provided my daughter very good care. I hope to never need a pediatric ophthalmologist's appointment again, but if I do, I'd go back to Dr Moore in a heartbeat.
