Dr Hammond isn't a dentist; he specializes in emergency medicine and general/family practice. He helped my fiancee thru a suicide attempt and spent extra time with him & even gave him his cell number. THAT's AWESOME BEDSIDE MANNER. He is also very religious and we all make mistakes. Dr. H is too good of a doctor to not be forgiven. Amen

Jul 23rd, 2011

Dr. Douglas Hammond in Huntsville, Al was found again in the beginning of 2011 to have been drinking alcohol and taking prescription pain killers (unprescribed to him but kept in his office) while performing surgery and other dental procedures on patients! He was hiding his addition but was finally caught by dental board investigators. This is atleast his second offense to the public of this type yet he was allowed to be placed on mere probabtion as opposed to suspension of his practice. He has since relapsed and is dangerously and wrecklessly working in patients mouths while intoxicated! The public has a right to know of Dr. Douglas Hammonds dangerous mis-deeds but no attempt to inform them has ever been attempted. It is public record for anyone who knows to email bdeal@dentalboard.org but the average consumer doesn't think about the idea of doing this type of background check on a dentist. The public must be warned and authorities must investigate Dr. Hammond's danger to the public! He is trying to conceal his habit now by terminating employees of his office that may know his addictions.
