Dr. Douglas Donald Nowak, MD

After much searching for a surgeon to fix my hip labral tear, I found Dr Nowak. He did an excellent job and I am finally running pain free again. Couldn't be happier with him and his staff. He explained things very well and has a very specific recovery plan that I appreciated. He seemed genuinely interested in me and getting me back to running. It was nice having a doctor who is an athlete as he understood my goals.

I have a hip labrum tear that had been missed by many other doctors. I finally found Dr Nowak in 2016 and had an arthroscopic surgery to fix the tear and address hip impingement. I am now 2 years after surgery and very happy. I am back to running and skiing.

Dr. Nowak was the second surgeon I saw after a knee injury. The first Dr. explain everything was in my head and I had not hurt my knee. Dr. Nowak took the time to listen to what had happened reviewed the images and really took care with the exams of my knee. His skills in surgery and post had me up and back walking in a matter of days! I highly recommend him and his staff! They truly listen and take care of their patients.

Dr. Nowak is such a fantastic person! He is very honest, easy to talk to, and a great surgeon, he has great bedside manner, follows up personally after surgery, and is conservative in his approach until all other options besides surgery are exhausted. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a surgeon. You are in good hands.

I live about 90 minutes from Dr Nowak's office and had found him from his training with Dr Marc Philippon. I sought multiple opinions before deciding to forth with hip arthroscopic surgery by Dr Nowak about one year ago to address FAI and a labral tear. I am very happy with the result and am back to running pain free. It is a very long recovery with much therapy, but glad I went through it to be where I am now.

Besides sometimes having to wait to see him, I have been extremely happy with Dr Nowak. I had a hip arthroscopic surgery for a labral tear about 6 months ago and am happy to say I am back to full activity.

After seeing multiple doctors, finally was diagnosed with a labral tear of my hip, sent to Dr Nowak who fixed it, and now back to playing basketball and hiking.

Dr Nowak came highly recommended for both his surgical ability and bluntness. Going into my hip arthroscopy to address hip impingement and a laral tear, he was extremely blunt in telling me that I am ''not an ideal" candidate for hip arthroscopy due to my age in early 50s and mild arthritis. He told me even if successful (which he made no guarantees) I would not be 100% normal due to the mild arthritis. He quoted me odds of somewhere about 75% success rate. He was very clear about expectations from surgery before hand. Given the severe pain, I felt these odds were worth the chance and I am very glad I did. I am now about 5 months removed from surgery and am much better. I have minimal pain for every day activities. I am by no means 100%, but my life is so much improved and would highly recommend Dr Nowak. He has a very direct/blunt approach and tells you like it is, some may not like this, but I definitely did.

Highly trained, kind, and an honest doctor! Back to full activity after surgery, running happy!
