Dr. Douglas Edward Rittenhouse, MD

During my first prenatal visit he was condescending and outright rude. I spent the duration of my pregnancy unsuccessfully looking for a new in network physician. He SAd me during my pp exam and again during a post op exam. I reported him to the police and the medical board. He will not face any repercussions. But the way it happened I believe there are other women who have similar experiences with him. If you have other options for OBGYN care I strongly recommend utilizing them. And if you don't have other options for an OBGYN use this review to show to your insurance to find an out of network option and request they cover them as in network because NO WOMEN should EVER experience what I experienced during a time we are so vulnerable and delicate.

I went to him for a persistent yeast infection, his treatment mostly focused on petroleum jelly. When that didn’t work he wanted me to just wait it out for a few weeks. So I went to a different doctor in the practice who got me set up on treatment regimen, the standard of care, that worked. It was also the most painful exam I’ve ever had, he didn’t do the things that make it less painful- when the other doctor re tested I didn’t feel a thing. I thought a male gynecologist would be fine, but I found it very uncomfortable with him.

I am a very young woman who has gone to the gynecologist a few times and had to choose this man as my doctor to get in for a quick appointment. He came into the room asking what I needed but I was only there for an annual appointment, why would he ask that? And proceeded through the examination without any explanation and was just forcing himself. I was taking a chance with a male doctor and it made me so uncomfortable that I don’t ever want to see a man doctor again. Please do your research before choosing doctors, I didn’t and paid the unforgettable price.

He was the only doctor available in the office the day I needed to be seen. he asked what I needed help with but really was no help. He gave me information about my condition I know is inaccurate as I've done a lot of research. Apparently more than he has.

Very Aloof and careless person.He claims to follow care philosophy yet shows quite the opposite.Least recommended Doctor!

Dr. Rittenhouse is the best doctor that will take the time to listen to your questions and has excellent bedside manners.

Dr. Rittenhouse delivered 3 of my 4 babies and he is exceptional! I was a bit nervous after 1st traumatic birth and had multiple miscarriages. He handled me and the 3 births with perfection. Each one was totally smooth and I owe him. Every experience has been the best. I've been with him for 8 years and highly recommend him!

I've been going to Dr. R for ages (maybe a dozen years or so) and in that time he's always been professional, caring, and I can't imagine every changing docs.Dr. Ritt has an amazing bedside manner and his office staff is top notch. I've searched around and seen maybe ten obgyns and they've all left me terribly disappointed, and vowing never to return. Dr. Rittenhouse is the best.
