I found Doctor Schembre to be quite attentive to my needs, sympathetic to my individual situation, and responsive to all my questions. He explained my diagnosis, prognosis, and without being defensive solved my quandaries. Yes, he was late on occasion as all the doctors I have ever seen. But mostly he was punctual and although he doesn't treat you holistically that isn't what I was looking for or expected. He perform his procedures and explained what he found and didn't find. He offered his opinion but always allowed me to make my own decisions with the information he provided. I would recommend him without hesitation to any friend or family member that required his services.

This is possibly the worst doctor I have ever seen. After leaving the care of a great motility specialist in MA, I came to John Muir/UCSF in hopes of continued care and to get orders passed through my surgeon for a follow-up study. This doctor was 20 minutes late to an 8 AM appointment, dismissive of my care and critical of my surgeon--one of the Top 5 Nissen surgeons in the country. He seemed prone to gaslighting females and deserves a call out for it. He did not once ask me who I was as a person and only looked at a variety of tests he had no context on/about (was patient on medication at the time, had patient undergone a procedure prior to the test he was reviewing, etc). Wow. So, so incredibly unprofessional.

Dr. Drew Schembre, MD is a very knowledgeable and professional expert. After fooling around with another provider for over a year in extreme pain and suffering, I switched to Swedish and immediately started to receive proper care. Within 4 days I was in surgery and on my way to getting my life back. After 3 surgery’s over the course of 60 days and a few more weeks of recovery, I was completely cured. I strongly recommend Dr. Drew Schembre, MD

He assured me that he could tell me what my gastro problem was. He lied, did a MRI then had his assistant call and tell me everything was fine? Never heard from him again. What a jerk he got paid I still do not know what is wrong
