Have been going to Dr. Styles for over 30 years ( and worked with him at PVHMC for even longer). Very caring and knowledgeable. Highly recommend his office.

Dr Styles is wonderful. I have been going to him for many years. He is a great physician who really cares. I have moved out of state and still continue to make a 4 hour drive to see him...that says it all! Love him!

Dr. Styles has been my parents primary care doctor for about 30 years. Based on my experiences with other physicians as well as 13 years of ICU/ED experience as an RN, I would say his services have been adequate but not particularly good. There have been around a half dozen times when my parents have gotten inadequate or wrong treatment; for example, my mother has high blood pressure and instead of prescribing one of the typical medications for this, he gave her a prescription for a heart failure medication which had potential adverse effects far greater than the medicine she should have been on. Another time, instead of refilling the medication he needed (one for bladder problems), his office gave him a refill for a sleep medicine which he had tried but which caused hallucinations. My parents aren't the most knowledgeable about health problems and I don't think he or his associates really explain things to them well; I am constantly having to monitor their situation which has… become more difficult after having developed a chronic illness myself. I would NEVER go this this office as a patient. Also, I find it odd that when doing a search for a neurologist for my mother, his name popped up. He is a primary care doctor with experience in sports injuries, period!!! He is no more a neurologist than I am an astronaut.

Dr Styles has provided excellent care for me, an active 78 year old male, and helped me overcome injuries and get back to the activities I enjoy - cycling, walking, swimming, etc. I first selected him 3 years ago out of all the physicians in Claremont/Pomona because of his skill in sports medicine, his leadership of advanced training of medical students in primary care, as well as his friendly, direct and communicative style. Now I know that he has built an efficient office team and colleagues that answer my questions and get me care when I need it - from meds to XRays to PT to referrals. When he's not available, there are splendid medical colleagues to step in. Additionally, Dr Styles arranged for fast attention when I was in Asia last summer and was medically evacuated with a foot fracture to LAX and Claremont. Yes, I recommend him to friends, and will go back to Dr Styles as long as we can be in the relationship of physician and patient. I feel fortunate to have… become his patient, and know personally others who feel the same way.

Dr Styles can be hard to get an appointment with, usually I have to see another Dr or an PA, who seem to mis-diagnose. or don't take the time. When I do see Dr. Styles he gets the diagnosis right.

I have been seeing Dr. styles for years, he's patient care has gone down and as a patient with health problems his staff is rude, esp. His Nurse bad bedside manners, ignores questions and is not helpful.
