Dr. Edith Gonzalez-Werner, MD

Let me start by saying I made my first appointment specifically with Dr. Werner, however when I arrived I was told I would only be meeting with the PA. After that I scheduled my next appointment and made sure it was with an actual doctor. So I arrive at my follow up appointment with Dr. Werner at 10:30am on a Monday. I arrived at 10:25am. I wasn't called back until 11:30 only for my weight and vitals. After that I was taken to a room where I waited another 25 minutes before this doctor appeared. Dr. Werner neglected to ask me about the new prescription I was put on by her PA due to being severely under weight. She asked me what my concerns were so I told her about my weight as well as my mental health. She wasn't at all concerned that I'm 25 pounds under weight. Then I opened up about my mental health more than I expected and ended up telling her I was suicidal due to MDD and severe anxiety that's been going on for years. She then turns to me and asks, "Do you believe in God?", to… which I replied NO. Dr. Werner then went on for about 7 minutes explaining how helpful religion has been to her in her life and basically glorified religion and told me that I have to give all my problems to "The Lord" and then everything will be okay. I was stunned that a "Doctor" would even dare to bring up religion to a patient that's suicidal. How extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. Eventually I told her, "I'm not interested". Then she finally stopped talking about her religion. I was SHOCKED she didn't send me straight to the emergency room when I told her straight up I was suicidal. Then I started to explain the sever symptoms I experience during panic attacks. Dr. Werner cut me off several times to ask and eventually tell me that I am confusing my panic attacks with heart palpitations after I told her several times I've never experienced heart palpitations in my life. I'm 23 years old. She then ordered an EKG. In this time we also went over my blood work and she told me that something is wrong with my liver. Dr. Werner said my liver is inflamed and that I need to get more blood work done as well as an ultrasound. She couldn't explain why she thought it was inflamed. She did ask about my alcohol intake but I only drink a few drinks on the weekend and never during the week. Before I could ask any more of the many questions I had, she rushed out of the room and two CNA's or office assistances ( not sure but definitely not nurses ) came in and started putting leads all over me, completely and unnecessarily exposed my breasts entirely. At one point, one of the girls pokes her head out the door and calls for someone. Then another lady comes in and yells at the girls for putting the leads on me wrong while she rips them off and re-sticks them on me and demands the girls to watch. Of course my EKG comes back normal. I requested for Dr. Werner to come back in because I still had more questions and I felt extremely rushed in our conversation. At the end of the appointment ( that took over 2 hours ) I head to the front desk to get my lab work and ultrasound paperwork. The front desk lady ( the same one who came in to replaced my leads ) says I'm good to go. I reminded her that I needed these papers. She asked why and I told her that Dr. Werner says there's an issue with my liver and that I need more blood work and an ultrasound. This lady grabs the copy of my labs out of my hand and flips to the pages where the liver functions are and proceeds to tell me that my liver tests came back normal. ( which they did ). I said "Listen I know, but that's not what the Doctor said". We went back and forth and finally she goes to ask the Doctor and comes back with all the papers I had been asking for. 100/100 would never return to this miserable excuse of a Doctor. Her PA was far better but not good enough for me to return. What an awful experience. To: Dr. Werner, you should have cared more about my weight loss due to not eating and you should have sent me to the ER when I told you I was suicidal. You should have asked about the new meds I was put on to gain weight. You shouldn't have dismissed me when I told you I've never experienced heart palpitations. I shouldn't have gotten an EKG. You shouldn't have ever talked to me about your religion. I shouldn't have been ordered an ultrasound on my liver because it functions NORMALLY. You shouldn't be a Doctor period because it's CLEAR you do not care for your patients or have any clue on what you're talking about.

Awesome doctor and staff!! Dr. Gonzalez is respectful, professional, and friendly. She makes sure you always walk out with a cure to your illness or with the right medication. All her referrals are made to the right people the first time. Clinic is always clean and bright. Not too cold or hot. Will not go anywhere else.

Started as patient of Dr Gonzalez-Werner over one year ago as needed a General Practitioner and she was close to my residence and accepting patients. I got to actually see her only the first introductory visit. While waiting was subjected to video screen in room in a religious fashion. I went over past history and current concerns. One was skin abrasions, dark spots, could they be cancerous? Also foot fungus. She was very good at referring me to Dermatologist and Podiatrist. Went to those appointments. Both were a waste of time. Dermatologist took all of 8 minutes, quick look at three or four large, irregular spots and said " They are because of your age" How reassuring!! Podiatrist said nothing could be done and that was it. Three minutes with him..BUT they had the insurance info..ching, ching. In August this year, I suffered what could be a mini stroke. I contacted her office, was berated in furious manner that I didn't call ambulance and go to emergency. I need to come in ASAP.… Appointment made for three days later, second day they called and said lady I was to see would be out day of my appointment, got on week later. Saw some lady, no qualifications disclosed.. She again reprimanded me for not taking immediate action. "This could have been very bad, even fatal, how irresponsible". She would get me into have MRI within 24- 48 hrs at most. I was to call if not heard in two days. Never got a call regarding a appointment for MRI so called Werner office. No one knew what I was talking about.. I called my insurance, they had NOT received any request for imaging. Back and forth, round and round for FIVE days Dr office, Insurance. Dr finally sent second request. This took four weeks to get a time and date for head and cerebral MRI.. So much for the severe emergency!! When called for results at Dr., again no one knew what I was talking about. NEVER did I speak to Dr Werner after the first appointment in 2016. I have now dropped her as my General Practitioner. Lacks communication skills or have any concern for the patient..Made a bundle on insurance claims along with her referral offices doing same with NO results for myself that was even close to acceptable..

Doctor is very thorough in discussing my health concerns. Seeing her is always worth the wait.

I loved the atmosphere...very relaxing and staff friendly and helpful...Dr Gonzalez was very friendly and a great bedside manner, answered all my questions, took her time..Love the office.

no sense of concern for the patient and loosely handing out prescriptions without first seeing or examining them

If you have an appointment it only takes about 10-15 minutes for them to take you to a room. once you are in the room you wait anything between 25-60+ minutes before an actual doctor comes in. When the doctor finally comes in she spends at the most 10 minutes with you. She has sent me to do multiple tests and has never called me for my results. I have to call (multiple times) to have the staff do anything. Honestly just save your time and look somewhere else if you want someone who actually knows how to do their job.

I don't know why she practices here. She should keep her missionary work out of work place. Absolutely no use to me. Waste of time and money and I had to go elsewhere. Staff talks about patients in Spanish assuming they don't understand. Bad assumption.

She is the worst doctor I have ever seen. Told me not to worry about my cancer because it was up to Jesus anyways! Then neglected to send my referral to to my medical group and lied about it. She should lose her license to practice medicine!

Dr.Edith Gonzalez always takes amazing care of me and my family, she always listen to me and answers all my questions.
