Dr. Edward Paul Gelmann, MD

I took a friend to his appointment with Dr Gellman. He was very dry & showed no compassion. He may be knowledgeable but is cold as a fish. His bedside manner is horrific.

all i want to say is this, find someone that truly cares....do your research and make sure you ask questions. The more you ask questions, the more a doctor should get involved. A good doctor cares about you and your well being......and be willing to answer no matter how difficult your questions are...be vigilant...

Went to him for an issue with iron levels. He took blood samples which is normal. However, he took one of the vials and very discreetly put it in a special lead lined container. When i asked about it he said dont worry about it. After we both left the room I told him I left something on the chair. I went back in and looked into the lead lined container. There were hundreds of vials and the shipping manifest said it was going to NASA for project M-14-100. I have no idea whats going on here.

What a shame it is that New York Presbyterian/Columbia University would hire this pathetic doctor. He will make you wait all day in the waiting room, he is cold, no bedside manners and will rush out the room as fast as humanly possible. I won't go into much detail about how bad of a doctor he is and to avoid him at all costs, because I find it hard to believe people will risk their lives after going to one appointment with him, my guess is they will rush out the door and never look back. And his staff? NASTY, as rude and nasty as they come. It will surprise you that they have these people working there. If you are reading this and thinking of visiting him, do yourself or your loved one a favor and don't, find another doctor, never tried Memorial Sloan, but if I had a second chance with my dad I would.
