Dr. Elaine C. Duplessis, MD

I went to du plesis to have my tubes tied. She had odd notions about the age of my “gynecological relationship” with my then fiancé, and rudely voice them. Finally did the surgery but removed my tubes instead of tying them, and only told me about it post-op. Did a careless job with endometrial ablation with caused three more D&C’s in the consecutive six months from a different surgeon. She was rude and seemed to work more emotionally than clinically. I have since found a different OB/GYN.

Dr. du Plessis is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. She took the time to explain everything and was thorough. She is the only Dr. who took the time to explain, give options and spend the time, making me feel comfortable. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!

I went to her to get my tubes tied. I was 40 and not interested in having more children. She insisted on removing my tubes, and doing an ablation. The tube removal caused issue with the stumps, and her ablation led me to 3 more D&C’s by another doctor, to clean up the cells she left behind. She was condescending to my husband and rude to me. Find a better doctor.

Told me she chose to have a C-section Because she "didnt want her Vagina to be Shredded" BTW...I ended up having Dr Takyi (my NEW OB) Deliver my daughter...and I will trust him to deliver my next baby via VBAC...And he assures me that I will not be "Shredded" and that Everything stretch and return...and its a natural part of childbirth. One would think a WOMAN would have a similair ideal, much less a Female OB.
