Dr. Elisa Claire Taffe, MD

I saw Dr. Taffe for a hot second who diagnosed me with lymphedema and said to wear compression hose and return when I was sick. I found a new UPMC lymphedema doctor after suffering for over an entire year. I learned that lymphedema can not be diagnosed by a physical assessment. Only diagnosed by a diagnostic test. Which she isn't aware of. My diagnostic showed lymphedema to arms, legs, hand and chest wall. I need therapy, manual drainage and mechanical drainage for life. Her cocky self-centered opinion of herself was just that. No medical knowledge to back it up. Told me I required no treatment. I'm a RN and would avoid her at all costs.

Dr Taffe listened carefully and addressed my concerns. She was very professional and had a great rapport with her staff.

Dr Elisa Taffe is extremely unprofessional, rude, callous toward patients and their families. 98% of the time, she is late for her appointments. During our last visit at the AGH Advanced Wound Healing and Lymphedema Center, Dr Taffe entered the room where my father and I were waiting; she groaned, turned around abruptly to leave the room and abruptly walked into her nurse behind her. She did not want to treat my father and we did not want to see her with rude and want-to-be superior attitude. We were so relieved that we were scheduled there with another Specialist. **Ask to see anyone other than her if you want your loved one to be treated by a professional with the patient's total health to be taken into consideration. If she were the only option there for care, we would go to another facility for "Quality care."

Dr. Taffe was kind and courteous.

Spoke intelligently but at the same time in words that were very easily understood despite being a complicated topic.
