Dr. Ellen Marie Hartenbach, MD

I am BRAC1 positive with Triple Negative Breast Cancer & had to have a remaining ovary removed for cancer preventative purposes. I had an ovary removed earlier in my life so I needed the last ovary removed. Dr. Hartenbach & her staff were very responsive & professional. They wanted to do my surgery laparoscopy & something told me in my gut to have them go through the old incision. They honored my request & after surgery told me there was much more scar tissue than they expected, & it was good I felt & insisted we go the way we did. Not only did she do a great job & improved the look of the old ugly scar from the previous surgery, they made me feel good about my wanting the surgery the way I did. Some doctors would never let you know they were happy they listened to your request, let alone be happy you pushed to do it your way. She had no ego problems (which she could being the excellent surgeon she is), but made me feel so reassured my choice was the right one. My follow up… appointments were great. I felt well taken care of & informed. My recovery time was minimal & I believe that to be because of Dr. Hartenbach special talent during & after the operation. I am so happy to know I now have at least one less thing to worry about concerning any re-occurrence of cancer. Thumbs up to Dr. Hartenbach & her staff, & a big thank you to them for the wonderful concern & care.
