Dr. Emil Joe Schelbar

I've gone to see Dr. Schelbar a few times now, trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. He is just SO, SO incredibly rude, condescending, and arrogant. His comment this last visit was "I don't know what I'm supposed to do beyond what I'm doing...I can't fix you." Sad VERY rudely!! We know he can't fix my lung problems...I've had them since a child...but he could at least be compassionate & speak kindly. Just because we ask if there's any other medicines, or changes in medicines we could try, doesn't mean we expect him to work a miracle. He doesn't have to be rude about us asking re: other options. I told my husband, "That's it...I have to find another pulmonologist." My husband's comment back, "I didn't like him from the start!"

I am extremely fortunate to have Dr. Schelbar as my Doctor. Very informative, patient and easy going. Would highly recommend him.

Dr Schelbar is an excellent pulmonologist! Have suffered from COPD for years and have had a number of pulmonologist. This doctor is at the top of the list! Great doctor with great medicine! Dr Schelbar has always been cordial and polite! I highly recommend!

I read a comment on the reviews that said he was nasty and snarly and very hateful. She must have gone to a different Dr. Schelbar than I go to. He is always very polite and that there is no cure for COPD and the prescriptions and oxygen are really all he can do. Very sympathetic. I would recommend him to anyone.

He treated my late husband a few years ago and I have never gotten over how snarly, hateful and really uncaring he was. My husband was in the throes of death and he treated him like he was a waste of time. I will never forget this experience and if I needed him for one last breath, I would not ask him for help because all I would get in return would be a smart mouth and ARROGANCE!!!!

I was referred to Dr. Schelbar by my PCP after a tumor was found in my bronchus. I saw Dr. Schelbar on a Friday and he told me I needed to have a bronchoscopy done and asked when I wanted to do it. I told him asap. He fit me in on the schedule on Monday. Dr. Schelbar was always doing the next step in my care before I could ask him what the next step was. He has made a huge impact on my life the short time I've had to see him. I will always recommend him to anyone, I wish he could be my PCP because of how he truly seemed to care for me and my outcome. Dr. Schelbar is THE BEST.

Dr. Schelbar is a wonderful doctor. He takes his time and listens to you and what your concerns are about your diagnosis. He cares for his patients and never scares you by shootimg big words at you. He explains everything to you with a very kind tone.

His bedside matter is great. Made me comfortable and I feel like he listens. He is very upfront with you about your options and his concerns. If you want a doctor who will work hard for you he is your man but if you are looking for someone to tell you what you what to hear and put your on a bunch of meds you need to look elsewhere.
