Dr. Emily D. Szmuilowicz, MD

This is a doctor whose opinion you can trust, and who absolutely knows what she is doing. You are in excellent hands with Dr. Emily. Plus, she is a very nice, warm, and cordial person, who seems like she knows and cares about her patients.

I have Type 1 diabetes and just moved to Chicago. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Szmuilowicz. She is very knowledgeable and thorough. She explained everything to me better than any endocrinologist I have ever seen. I feel so much better knowing that she is caring for me.

I had an outstanding experience with this physician. She is incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. The amount of time she spent reviewing my case and explaining my condition, what to expect, and my options was above and beyond anything I had ever experienced before. After my initial appointment, she got back to me with test results promptly and answered my questions. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Dr. Szmuilowicz to any of my friends and family.

Dr. Szmuilowicz is by far the best doctor I've ever had. She is extremely smart and conscientious, but also has a great bedside manner. It's true that it's difficult to get an appointment on short notice, but that's because her schedule is full because she's fantastic.

I was made to wait over 3 months for an appointment.Going to downtown Chicago is not pleasant. I was the first appointment and it seemed no one was in a decent mood in the entire office.The intake nurse haphazadly took my height and weighed me. She measured me about 2" shorter than I am, and did not even make sure the scale was balanced before deciding how much I weighed. The doctor was ok, but very cold.She went through a lot of information that she said she would include on th ereport she was typing , but did not. After all this, I'm then told that in the future I will see her intern and not her.

Fantastic and caring. She will do her very best and personally calls with test results and to follow up on questions. I've been to several doctors and she is by far the very best.

Dr Szmuilowicz is a caring, excellent physician. It is my opinion that general internists are not addressing diabetes in a manner that it should be. This is what led me to Dr Szmuilowicz, and the fact that she was referred to me by a family member. Dr S, as I call her, was very attentive and she LISTENED to my concerns. She was not rushing me out of the door and watching the clock. She performed a thorough exam and gave me her recommendations. When I came back to see her, she was thrilled that my blood sugars were under control and that my A1C was down from my first visit. She recommended a new medication which has given me even more excellent control of my blood glucose. I intend to remain her patient in regards to my diabetes. I am also referring another family member to her. All in all, Dr Szmuilowicz is an excellent physician. I work in the medical field and have interacted with many physicians. Dr S is by far on of the best. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I have high standards for my doctors and she's in the top 3. Smart in every way.
