Dr. Emily Y. Chu, MD

I found it hard to believe such a good doctor has no reviews on here! She is both an MD and Ph.D with the best dermatology department in the world -- literally. She has been helping my mother with a disease called lichen planus, a very difficult disease to deal with, which mom's primary was not able to handle. Dr. Chu is "right on" with the number of times she needs to see you and how often, proven when mom temporarily regressed when she had to postpone her appointment with Dr. Chu. (Try not to delay your visits too long) .Dr. Chu really worries about her patients -- I could see worry in her face when my mom told her about one of the more disturbing symptoms she was having. Dr. Chu was especially concerned because mom was having imaging done by her local hospital for the particular symptom, not by U of Penn, so she called mom's primary, who would be receiving the original reports of the imaging results, to talk more in depth about mom's symptom and the imaging. We travel almost… an hour to U of PA in center city, Philadelphia, because we don't think there is any dermatologist nearly as good in our area of Bucks/Eastern Montgomery county. If Dr. Chu does not handle my own issues of psoriasis and do yearly skin cancer checks I will trust anyone she refers me to. (Doctors at University of Pennsylvania not only have special interests but sub-specialize, which is wonderful.)
