I am 59 years old. Dr. McCarty did my right shoulder replacement in Dec. 2020. I had a lot of pre-surgery anxiety; I was concerned if it would work and how hard the rehab would be. Everything went extremely well. For the past year I have done so many things that I was not able to do before the surgery: golf, ping pong, fly fishing, pickleball, and reaching things in a high cabinet. Dr. McCarty is a great surgeon and he is a great man!

Dr. McCarty was a dream! I am so grateful to have found him for my knee surgery. The entire process was seamless, reassuring, quick, and not even painful. I would recommend him--and his fabulous staff and center--to ANYONE!

It is coming up on a year since I had Dr. Eric McCarty and his team repair my badly torn shoulder. Upon getting x-rays, he had found that I had a torn labrum at 280°, a fully shredded bicep, and a snapped clavicle. I could’ve, and probably should’ve, written this 11 months ago. I’m hoping to keep this on the shorter side, however I feel I may fail greatly on that expectation. I want to start off with my shoulders current state. I am fully recovered, which still feels unreal to say. McCarty and his team were amazing from the first appointment. They assured me of their confidence and comfort of performing multiple surgeries on one go. I had previously seen someone at Front Range, and to say I was massively under confident in their ability and desire for my care is an understatement. McCarty is one of the most genuine and thoughtful people I’ve ever dealt with in the medical field (I’ve seen a lot of them). He had my best interest literally through the entire process. From the moment I… booked my appointment to the time I left surgery, their staff and team were incredible and there was never a moment where I doubted any part of the process. Even the follow up appointments, he remembered me and my situation. Every interaction was personble. Unfortunately, I had a couple set backs and fears right after surgery but his whole team was in my corner and were available to reach at any time without hesitation. I am now able to get back to the risk taking life I desire so greatly. I also wanted to say that if you are blessed enough to have McCarty and his team surgically repair you, I would also suggest the physical therapist at CU help you to become a better version of yourself. I have seen plenty of them this last year. I've had the opportunity to work with Pawel for my shoulder, who has extensive knowledge in anatomy and put in a tremendous amount of work to help me heal. I also wanted to mention Chelsea who helped me with an abdominal issue I aggravated during my rehab. If you are considering any surgery, I would absolutely make an appointment with Dr. McCarty. You will see right away that his knowledge and passion to help you heal is unprecedented.

I saw Dr. McCarty for rotator cuff and bicep tendon repair in 2021. From my initial consultation, pre & post surgery to my 6 month post operative check-up I felt rest assured that I was receiving great care from one of the best, most competent and caring orthopedic physicians in CO. Dr. McCarty and his well trained staff always took the time to explain things and to answer all of my questions. They quickly addressed any needs I had and always made me feel like they knew who I was and they were on top of my care. I’m a 56 year old man that had been suffering from significant shoulder pain for 14 years. After years of cortisone injections and decreasing shoulder functionality, I decided to finally consult a surgeon to determine what options, if any, that I had. Three separate doctors found that I had significant arthritis. All three informed me that I was too young, at age 55, to have shoulder replacement surgery and that I would have to wait until I was at least 60 before they would consider performing such a procedure. All three also informed me that I would not be able to continue strength training afterwards. Almost a full year went by before I decided to give one more surgeon, Dr Eric McCarty, a try. During my initial visit I consulted two of his associates before speaking to Dr McCarty. All were extremely knowledgeable and provided direct and informed solutions. Bottom line...they told me they can help me immediately and that I could resume strength training afterwards. Without any… pressure they told me to think about it and give them a call If I wanted to proceed. A few days later I scheduled the surgery. It’s been 7 months since my surgery and I’ve never felt better. Pain free with full range of motion in my shoulder. I was back in the gym after 5 months and well on my way to being full strength. I cannot thank Dr McCarty and his staff for what they’ve done for me. They significantly changed my life. It’s as if I never had a shoulder injury. If you’re suffering from joint pain or considering a joint replacement procedure do yourself a favor...call these people. You won’t regret it.

Dr. McCarty took the time to understand my injury and discuss all options. He then took the time to get my surgery scheduled during a very busy time (my injury was during the COVID lock down) and the outcome was extremely positive. I am now back to exercising and strength training thanks to his passion to get me well!!

Dr McCarty and his staff always make you feel like you were their top priority, no matter who you are. His knowledge, skill and bedside manner are top-notch. He makes sure he and you understand what YOUR goals are following your treatment, then works hand-in-hand with you to reach those goals. He operated on me three times and in every instance, I could not have happier with the outcome. He and his staff are the best!

Dr. McCarty and his team are wonderful. They listen and devise a plan to help you get back to where you want to be. I would still be stuck with a froze shoulder had I not gone to see him and the PT specialist there. Thanks for everything!
