Dr. Erick Humberto Alayo, MD

My primary doctor referred me to see Dr. Erick Alayo as a specialist. I have made appointment to see Dr. Alayo and the appointment was confirmed in writing by the doctor's office to see Dr. Alayo. However, when I went to the office for this appointment, I could only see a nursing practitioner and did NOT see Dr. Alayo at all! When I explained that this appointment was made and confirmed in writing to see Dr. Alayo instead of a nursing practitioner, the office people were NOT honest with very bad attitude. I'm a senior and have seen many doctors. My above experience with Dr. Alayo's office is the worst one I ever had with any doctor's office!

I had an appointment at 1 o’clock. Was 2 and still had not been seen. The doctor should stick to the schedule and be more considerate of the fact that I had to take time from work and come here and waste my time. What good is it to have an appointment if they don’t follow the schedule. But he will charge me a $50 fee. I didn’t even see the doctor. I should get reimbursed for my time and the fact that I lost 4 hours of work . A total waste of time. I never saw him so I don’t know if he is any good. But my first experience was the worst. Thanks for wasting my time.

One of the staff, Nicole, told me that the lab & imaging order cannot be mailed or fax.Nicole told me, it is again the law to mail or fax the order. I explained to her that we have been requesting this for 2 years now. We have always asked Dr. Erick Alayo's clinic to send us a copy of the doctor's lab & imaging order to schedule appointment to have these orders done. Troublesome to make a trip to Chula Vista just to pick-up the doctor's lab & imaging order. How inconsiderate? I understand there might be some privacy issues but mailing the copy to the address on their file seems to be reasonable. The primary doctor does not have any problem faxing it directly to the lab or mailing the lab order copy to our home address. Only NICOLE has an issue with this.
