Dr. Ernest Asamoah, MD

He told me thrice about his difficult lifestyle changes as his father & brother are diabetic, how doesn't have "headaches" like I do so runs half marathons every week. He didn't know how migraines affect quality of life inspite of a braggy office with "intern of the year" award from a decade ago. He was focussed on getting the transcription on his dictaphone which, he spoke into about me in third person, than empathizing with me. I came out feeling nihilistic, like I'm doomed to a life of diabetes & coronary issues because of my genetics. I can only postpone those problems by getting to a healthy weight. The advice he gave was generic & against others providers. On swinging between insomnia & hypersomnia from migraines, he suggested I get tips for better sleep on national science foundation website. On fluctuating appetite, he suggested that I should not eat on the days I don't have any appetite as "something has to give" and weight loss is a matter of creating calorie deficit.… I hope nobody else with a brain injury gets told that if they can't push through their "headaches" and take the "magic pill" of intense cardio, they are doomed to a life of multiple comorbidities.

I was a former patient of this doctor and left to find a new better doctor. I have thyroid cancer and was at the nuclear medicine dept for day 1 of treatment over at Community North Hospital and was told by a tech that Dr Asamoah gives wrong information to patients about isolation times and that they need to come back on a certain day for labs. After leaving the hospital that day I called his office very upset and asked why would they say that to me. He called me back screaming at me and threatening to take away my treatment and I could just go somewhere else to get my radiation. I was physically ill and sobbing because I wanted to continue the radiation. His ego was bruised and why he was screaming at me all because I, the patient, questioned him as to what the nuclear medicine department told me. Dr Asamoah knew what he said was wrong and he called to apologize but he never let me forget that I questioned him. I ended up finishing my treatment and I left as soon as I could. … He has a horrible bedside manner and no patient with cancer should ever have to go through what I went through.

Went to Dr. Asamoah for biopsy. He was great, very nice and seemed very intelligent. His staff however was not great, they could really use customer service training. Would give Dr. Asamoah a 4 star and his staff a 1 star.

I highly recommend Dr. Asamoah. He spends the time to make sure you understand what is going on, so you can make the right decisions. He is a happy person who has your best interest in mind. Great doctor!

Dr. Asamoah has taken care of me ever since I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. I did not understand everything when I was first diagnosed and he helped me to learn all I can. I was not an easy case for him as he has stated many times. But he is also been one that would not give up and send me to someone else. He made sure that he figured out all the issues that I was having. I have recommended him to everyone that I hear that has a thyriod disorder. His staff is short with you some and not always helpful however, I would still recommend Dr. Asamoah no matter how his staff is. He is a truely remarkable doctor whom not only has good bedside manner but is very knowledgeable in his field :)

The office staff is hard to work with. Dr. Asmoah has made mistakes either giving me the wrong kind of medicines or wrong prescriptions. I used to love him but his his helpful attitude has changed; now he's just after the business with little concern for the individual patient.

They are wonderful, caring, knowledgable and very easy to understand. Dr Asamoah is #1 in my opinion. He cares, is well educated, and has a great bedside manner! I have no problem reccomending him to anyone and have to several people!Thank you

Dr. Asamoah and his staff are professional, respectful and on time. I have never written a doctor review nor had as positive of an experience with a physician, especially under concerning circumstances. It is no wonder he has top ratings in all categories.
