Dr. Firdaus Cawas Dastoor

My experience with Dr Dastoor has been overall positive, he is thorough but does sometimes make me feel like a petri dish. He doesn't make any small talk, he makes few attempts to keep me informed of my condition (I've had lab work done 2-3 times now and each time never heard about results). Maybe no news is good news, but when I asked why I needed the blood work he simply replied " to check your levels"At this point I had already been ushered to the hallway and was no longer comfortable asking about the details of what my blood might be telling him.Scheduling is a problem since the time that Dr D spends at each office that he works out of is very limited. If I call with a question or problem I end up leaving a message with his nurse, Melody. Melody has returned less than 50% of the calls and messages I have left. Her phone (and interpersonal courtesy) leave much to be desired. Her sense of sarcasm is very entertaining, but she seems fairly disinterested in patients.I get the feeling… that the office is understaffed or has no sense of customer service, not that I expect to be treated to a spa-like therapy when I walk in the door, but there is no respect given to my time(wait times are long in the office, my calls not being returned, etc)In the end, Dr D is a good doctor, thorough and caring, but he is burning the candle at both ends and in the middle and his office staff is not up to the task of keeping up with his speed.If you have a mild condition, just need a check up or don't mind being ignored or communicated with on their schedule this may be a great office for you, if you like having questions answered in a timely manner out of preference or necessity, look elsewhere.

Melody his nurse has no sense of humor, and does not help. Dr. Dastoor is a fabulous Doctor, but is only in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. No office help or questions can be asked outside of those hours.

I was referred to Dr. Dastoor by another physician. He may not small talk much, but if you have a question or concern, he replies in a professional manner with much human compassion. His nurse is caring, wonderful and has a great sense of humor! Neither are pretentious. I would certainly recommend them both!

Should you need to be admitted to a hospital he does not have privileges to admit and treat in hospital.

This is a GREAT doctor! Very kind and caring. His nurse is Melody and she is awesome!
