Dr. Francis Anthony Nardella, MD

Dr. Nardella took care of my mother 25 years ago throughout a rare terminal illness that he identified and treated. During her last days, he sat with her next to her hospital bed and held her hand. She adored him, and we were so grateful for his kind and compassionate care. Although he now practices in a different state, my brother and I still remember him fondly. His patients are very lucky!

Dr Nardella's examination was very thorough. The staff was very caring.

Dr. Nardella has some of THE BEST bed side manner ever! I have been ill for sometime and wasn't even sure I needed a rheumatologist. He spent almost an hour with me because my case is sort-of complex! I had to wait quite a while to see him-but thats because he is thorough with his patients and doesn't rush! He takes very detailed notes and very thorough examination and ran tests. He's an older man, good sense of humor and lots of experience. He was willing to listen and actually cared. During the exam, he stopped, he looked me in the eye and said "we need to find out what is wrong so you can start feeling better". What a guy! I have a follow up next week.

A year ago an autoimmune disease that no doctor had been able to diagnose left me nearly totally crippled. I hobbled into Dr. Nardella's office and once in the exam room, he and Shannon had to lift me on to the examining table. I couldn't go from a sitting to a standing position, my body was racked with pain, and I couldn't sleep on my stomach. I had lost 20 pounds in two months; I was dying. Dr. Nardella was so kind and considerate in treating me. The man even took off my shoes because I couldn't. How many doctors do that? He's one of the few doctors I know that has the "magic touch," a way of moving you, or palpating, or just listening to your vital signs that is so gentle, it's a healing thing in itself. After, a thorough exam, he said he was 99% sure of what I had--polymyalgia rheumatica. He gave me a prescription and said if you're not much, much better in 24 hours, call me back. Well, I took those pills, and surprised my wife the next day by standing up from a chair! I'm now… hiking, biking and kayaking again. I don't believe in miracles but I do believe in medical science. Furthermore, I am convinced that Dr. Nardella is one of the best rheumatologists in the State of Arizona if not the U.S.A.! I just had the pleasure of looking at all the articles he's published in medical journals here and around the world. Karen and Shannon are wonderful. As to the woman who left the negative comment about Karen, what she says is simply not true, none of it. She wrote, that Karen was "catty, obviously insecure when a better-looking woman walks through the door for the Doctor's help." Two points: 1) when you point the finger at someone else, you are pointing three back at yourself; I suspect you, lady, are the 'catty one'; and, 2) When you describe yourself as "a better looking woman", you prove only one thing, that you are a total narcissist, probably a narcissistic personality, and no one on earth should trust you. I pity the people who are in your life.

First of all, I think Karen must be married to the Doctor because she was nice to me over the phone until I walked into the Doctor's office. Typical catty, obviously insecure when a better looking woman walks through the door for the Doctor's help.The Doctor was nice but not accommodating. Very old school, in some ways a good thing, In other ways, too old school, not to mention how he never talked to my former doctors. H was going to do things his way. L.A.

The doctor and staff are freindly and knowledgeable.

I have been seeing Dr. Nardella for several years now. When I first made my appointment I scheduled with Karen and she was incredibly nice, and helpful. Upon arrival Karen was the one that sat up front, greeted me, checked me in, and was such a warm and kind person. The person that wrote in that Karen was rude and should be working in a prison must have been the problem herself because Karen would never be rude to anyone unless she were defending herself or the practice. The girl that draws my blood when I need it is named Shannon and she is the best I have ever had, it never is painful. Becky you hardly ever see as she works in the back, but if you call in and she answers you will be helped with the upmost curtousy. You can tell that they are just like a family and they really do care. They never seemed overwhelmed or stressed and I believe that is because Dr. Nardella treats his staff like family, which gives us, his patients the best care overall possible. Dr. Nardella is very… personable, knowledgeable, and was able to dx and continues to treat me. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a Rheumatologist.

I was referred to Dr. Nardella and he was a good Dr. (but not worth the aggravation). The gal at the front desk (Karen) is just rude and abrupt. When I call in she treats me as though I am a second class citizen, VERY rude. I am currently in Nursing school to become an RN and she goes against everything we are being taught about patient care. I am sorry for Doctor Nardella to have such a poor representation of his practice being the first person everyone talks to when calling and checking in. She has no business in healthcare, perhaps working at the local prison where being overbearing and rude might come in handy.

Dr Nardella and staff are tops in my book. Knowledgeable,caring folks. Best doctor/staff experience available.

Definitely would recommend this doctor. His bedside manner is what we experienced decades ago, not the way it is dictated today by the insurance companies. A true find and well trained.
