Dr. Fred A. Lado, MD

Dr. Lado may be intellectually proficient at his work, but his patients might never know, since he seems to outsource most of it to a nurse practitioner. She is a disorganized procrastinator, hard to get a hold of, and what’s worse, she’s making prescribing decisions that a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurologist should be making, without supervision. She dangerously increased the dose of one of my meds without consulting Dr. Lado (he admitted this to me and did not apologize or assure me that it would not happen again). If I had a blood test or contacted her with concerns, it took her at least two weeks to get back to me with an answer. There was no urgency whatsoever to safeguard my health. Dr. Lado also did not listen carefully during my history and never corrected factual errors in it that I asked him to correct. Dr. Lado is very interested in prescribing one new med for his patients with my condition and gave this as the only option for me if my current med stops… working. I don’t know why he’s so invested in this one med. I’m now seeing another doctor who is a full-time specialist in my condition (not a general neurologist like Dr. Lado) and who has many options for my treatment, include meds, that Dr. Lado never told me about.
