Summary
Dr. Rowland trained for both his Ph.D and M.D. at the University of CT Health Center where he remains on the faculty of the Center on Aging. Following medical school he completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine plus fellowships in Geriatrics and Medical Oncology. Dr. Rowland's current appointment is as Chief, Section of Geriatric Medicine at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. In addition he serves as Director of the Saint Francis Care Ethics Program, Medical Director of the Saint Francis Hospice Program, and as a member of the CT Coalition to Improve End-of-Life Care. Our Section currently provides both in-patient and out-patient geriatric consults and assessments, has an active clinical teaching service, and provides administrative medical direction as well as patient care in several local nursing homes.
