Not only did he misdiagnose my illness, he was a disgusting pervert. He kept hitting on me every visit and making feel very uncomfortable. He kept telling me how I looked like his wife! Stopped going to him!

Excellent care given.

Rude, arrogant, selfish, inattentive. All about money and status. Won't be going back.

I went to the office the first time about 6years ago. My regular dr was to busy and another dr from the office saw me. He didn't diagnose me properly and when I went back I saw Dr George Shapiro. 123 he figured out what was going on gave me tests etc. I had a very bad lung congestion etc. I wasn't getting oxygen and he treated me immediately . I was scared about the meds thinking I would get anxiety from them. He said don't worry if anything happens call me right away. I was fine and he personally called me a day or two later to see how I was. From that point on I was hooked. He is real. He treats you as a friend and not a stuffy dr. He has helped me with so many things that most drs completely overlook. I even brought my mom to him who paid out if pocket for the visit. He made her smile( which isn't easy) and made her feel at ease. When other drs would just put you on meds he tries to figure out what the problem is so he can find a solution not just a bandaid. Most drs write rx and… send you on your way. Not him! So if you want a dr to actually help you then he is your man!!

Dr. George Shapiro is an excellent doctor who takes pride in caring for his patients. My husband was suffering with a kidney stone recently. Dr. Shapiro dropped everything he was doing to take care of the situation. Most doctors would just send you to the emergency room, but Dr. Shapiro went above and beyond his call of duty. Thank you for being the most caring, concerned doctor. We are very lucky!

Dr George and his staff are like family. The girls at the front are so accommodating and polite. All of the nurses and nurse practitioners are compassionate and helpful. Not to mention the entire staff is gorgeous. Beauty and brains. Dr George has taken care of my family and I for many years now and I recommend him to all of my friends and family. He's the kind of doctor to take one look at you and will know exactly what your diagnosis is on the spot. They don't make them like that anymore. I love the fact that he works with an assistant/nurse that follows up with you when he leaves the room. She makes sure you understand what he has recommended and how to take medications/etc. It's also nice to have 2 brains in the room when you are explaining what's wrong. It reminds me of that tv show house lol. Yes, his bedside manner isn't exactly traditional but at least he knows what he's talking about. And it's not like he's inappropriate-he's just a little quirky. And like the woman… said in the testimonial before mine-his assistant is in the room with him during the entire visit which is really nice and comforting.

After reading what he's been accused of in the newspapers last week, I felt compelled to post about my experience with Dr. George Shapiro. First and foremost, he is a brilliant provider. He is a cardiologist, but is known around the area for being an age management (hormone replacement therapy) guru. The man changed my life. He might have even saved my marriage. When I was going through my changes, I completely lost my libido. I was depressed, fat, and fearful for my marriage. A friend referred dr Shapiro, and life has been amazing ever since. He was professional and very pleasant. At Every visit I've had with him, his assistant was present(who is just as brilliant as he is). Needless to say, the stories shocked me and I will continue to support dr Shapiro.

Although I think both Dr. George is by far the best in his field. He has saved my life on two occasions, I have to question his not seeing how detrimental his front desk is to the practice he has worked so hard for. His Admin team is condescending and outright rude to the patients. They answer the phone (when they do) and sound as if you are bothering them. Do they not comprehend they represent the good doctor and it is their attitude they are making his patients leave.

My 82 year old mother was in the hospital and Dr. Shapiro was assigned to her case. While she was in the hospital I called him to speak about her condition and he told me that he was busy on a personal matter and would check on my mother later that night and call me. He kept telling my mom he would call me and 2 days later I spoke to him - when I called him again. First he didn't know who my mom was and when he remembered who she was he really had no information for me. He said that she would be released in a day or two and that he wanted to see her at the end of the week for a follow up. I called his office to schedule and specifically asked if they accepted my mom's insurance. I was transferred to someone who never called me back. I called again and was told that they did not accept the insurance but that one follow up visit would be covered. I explained that my mom was in no position to pay and was assured that it would be covered. The day before the appointment they called… me and said that the doctor had an emergency the next day and they needed to move the appointment to the following week. I explained that I had the next day off and was unable to take the following week. I was left on hold for over 20 minutes and was told that the doctor could see my mom earlier the following day. The day of the appointment the weather was horrible - rainy, cold and windy. As we were on our way I called the doctors office with a question about their location and told them we were on our way. As we pulled in to the parking lot the doctor's office called and said that the doctor could not see my mom because they did not accept her insurance. I told them that I was assured by them that the visit would be covered and they said that it was not their fault, I should call the insurance company. I told them that we were outside of their office and they said the doctor could not see her. I asked why this was not confirmed when I called and specifically asked about the insurance and they said that they called the insurance company and they had only just called them back. So after I took a day off of work and my mom had to go out in a storm, only 2 days after getting out of the hospital, we had to turn around and go home. I found the doctor and his staff to be extremely unprofessional and uncaring. One of the other doctors my mom had while she was in the hospital assured me that even if the insurance company does not cover the follow up office visit, the doctor would still see her as a courtesy at no charge. That is what Dr. Shapiro should have done.
