Dr. Grant T Liu, MD

I sought out Dr. Liu because my regular Ophthalmologist felt my symptoms--seeing "lights/aura" frequently, migraines etc.--warranted further evaluation hoping to rule out severe vascular causation. First time patient of this physician and this hospital (HUP). It was extremely difficult for me to access this high traffic high construction location as I was unfamiliar with the precise location or the parking options. This would be a major impediment were I to need additional treatment. That being said, the staff and the many "stations" leading up to actually seeing the Doctor were without exception pleasant and competent. Another negative though is the wait times at each interval bordered on excessive even by "doctor time" standards. I was very pleased once I finally got to see Dr. Liu. He was pleasant and very focused with his questions and examination. Though he certainly did not seem inclined to linger, it seems that was mostly because he felt he had enough information to… render a diagnosis (he sent me down for bloodwork however where there was another wait at the lab, though not as bad as previous ones that day). The medical staff once they were seen overall were fine. Some of the attendant logistical aspects however were not.

Our daughter suffered from vision loss. Liu was recommended. Saw him numerous times. He was dismissive and arrogant. Though our daughter was faking and then suggested that I was making her sick. Turned out our daughter had a brain tumor. His delay made her prognosis worse. She fought for six years before passing. This guy is the worst.

He is phenomenal, he answered all my questions, along with my moms questions, and he took the most part of our time to examine, Yet, answered both of our questions. I would recommend him 100%!!!

very disappointed in my office visit with dr liu. i felt rushed through my appointment i did not get a chance to answer questions. i left the office with a feeling of not receiving a through examination. dr liu had a very lackadaisical attitude. i will not return again.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to Dr. Grant Liu. For his professionalism and caring manner he has always given me. I have been a patient of Dr. Liu for many years and he has always shown me respect and kindness with the highest quality of medical care. Other doctor's recommend their patient's to see Dr. Liu because they know he is the BEST in the field of Neuro-Ophthalmology!!

I would recommend Dr. Liu to anyone with eye issues. He is great with children and my son enjoyed his annual visits with him. He promptly submitted reports to my son's primary and regular eye doctor after each visit. The office wait time was long, but well worth the wait for this brilliant doctor!

Over an hour late. Had not reviewed notes given to him ahead of time and this could not give helpful information on our infant daughter's condition and when we asked about it he was completely unprofessional and dismissive. He actually does not know much at all about neurology and is not the specialist he claims to be. Can do an eye exam but otherwise was very unhelpful and rude and even talked about how he was too busy to answer questions.

I booked appointment 11 months ago. Arrived 2 hours early to find Dr. Liu in another clinic. the practice left me a voice mail canceling 50 minutes before my scheduled appointment. He didn't apologize, but told office to reschedule. I won't go back. He was unbelievably arrogant. I had to hang around the building another 4 hours before my driver arrived because the scheduler told me he'd treat me for 4-5 hours. Find another specialist.

I was referred to Dr. Liu by another excellent neurologist attending me for a "second opinion." Dr. Liu diagnosed my problem (ocular myasthenia gravis) the first time he looked at me and then asked me to have 2 tests to confirm it. I did and his diagnosis was confirmed. Being thorough, he also ordered a CAT scan of my thymus to rule in or out a tumor. Results not back yet. He has been extremely pleasant and courteous to me and my wife (who has been in the examining room with me on each visit). He is quick to laugh and makes you feel at ease. He explains exactly what he is doing and finding. This Doc knows his stuff. I really appreciate what he has done for me.

I have had a ton of appointments with him in the last 8 months. He always have been very friendly and informative. He seems very genuinely care about me. Very personable. He even remember things about my daughters months later. Best thing was I was seen and treated before another doctor was able fit me in.
