Dr. Gregory Wachter Botteron

I was informed by Dr. Botteron I needed a Watchman implanted so I could stop Eliquis. He gave me no information for the Watchman implant except it was necessary. I was not having a problem with the drug, he just though it was necessary. I researched the Internet and determined the Watchman was risky based on a recall of 30,000 and the lawsuits. On the next visit after my husband and I thought the visit was over (we had seen the nurse, not the doctor but she was ending the visit), Dr. Botteron burst into the room, put his two knees on a swivel chair and began spinning back and forth. He stated I was going to die if I did not let him insert a Pacemaker/ Defibrillator. The nurse explained that the heart and lungs sounded strong but he explained that with AFIB they would quit working. So he would destroy my sinus node but not to work because the batteries which I would be dependent on last a long time. Be careful when he says you need something, he is in it for the money.

The guy is gifted! Really knows what he's doing! And I'm a nurse.

I had been seeing a different Cardiologist for my heart misfiring for a couple of years. I got fed up with being told come back in 6 months. I made an appointment with Dr. Botteron. The first thing he did was ordered a heart monitor for 24 hours. I brought the monitor back the next day and they called me within a couple days and ask me to come in. I went for my appointment and Dr. Botteron told me my heart was misfiring 8,000 times a day. He said we aren't going to play around with it. He set up a procedure for an Ablation. I was awake for everything, I never felt pain only a little pressure. I had to lay flat after the procedure for another 4 hours. I felt better immediately. That was over a year ago and I'm still doing well. I recommend Dr. Botteron 100%.

This review is late because my ablation was done two years ago. I had what is unusual in that I was having so many PACs they were affecting my life. Dr. Botteron performed an ablation and it was like a miracle. I have not had an issue since. This was critical to my sense of well being as I was already concerned about my heart since I had a stent procedure a year earlier. I hope Dr. Botteron reads this and learns how wonderful I think he is.

After years of a fast pounding heart rythem and many EKGs', seen by at least 4 other cadio Dr's. I was on the computer trying to find a new cardiologist that could tell me what was wrong with my heart. Then I found Dr Botteron and my life changed. He told me I had A Fib and that there was a procedure to fix this called ablation. I was scared and worried he assured me that he would fix it and not to worry. Dr Botteron was so confident and made me feel at ease. I went in to the hospital and was so worried something would go wrong. Dr Botteron came to my bed before the procedure and I told him I was worried. He said this is my house and that I had nothing to worry about. Just how confident he was assured me I was in good hands. We went in it was 2003 if I remember right done the procedure and while in recovery he came in to check on me. I remember I guess from the meds if he like steak dinners lol. But here it is 2015 and after all of those years...still I have not had any fast heart… rythems or any problems. This guy is heaven sent! From explaining what was wrong in the beginning to the end of the follow ups I enjoyed every visit. If you need a heart Dr then Dr Botteron is your man! Thank you Dr Botteron for giving me a new heart and new life :)

Dr. Botteron is extremely knowledgeable and skilled. His office runs very smoothly, and his staff know their jobs very well, also.

Dr Botteron is the best cardiac electrophysiologist in the midwest in my opinion. He is compassionate and caring and very skilled with cardiac ablations and device implants. I recommend him highly, he has really helped my family member.

Dr. B and his assistance were always very courteous and professional in dealing with my A-fib problems. He completely cured me of these problems with ablation procedures.
