Dr. Hazmer Cassim, DO

I want to express my sincere appreciation to Dr. Hazmer H. Cassim and his entire staff at Desert Orthopedic Center for the exceptional care they have provided me. I came to Dr. Cassim while dealing with significant and at times extremely severe pain that was affecting my daily life, my ability to walk comfortably, and even my ability to sleep. When you live with that level of pain, finding a doctor you trust becomes incredibly important. Under Dr. Cassim's care, I have undergone an intra-articular hip injection, left greater trochanteric bursa injections, and radiofrequency ablation. From the beginning, I have had tremendous confidence in Dr. Cassim. He is knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and highly skilled. Just as importantly, he listens. He has taken my pain seriously and has worked with me to find treatments that could improve my quality of life. Going through medical procedures can naturally cause some anxiety, but Dr. Cassim's manner and professionalism have made me… feel that I am in very capable hands. He explains what is being done and what I can expect, and I have never felt like I was simply another patient being rushed through an appointment. I also want to give special recognition to Dr. Cassim's staff. Every person I have dealt with has treated me with kindness, patience, dignity, and respect. From appointments and preparation to the procedures themselves and follow-up care, the staff has been outstanding. Their compassion is especially meaningful when you are dealing with severe pain. At this point in my life, quality of life is extremely important to me. Being able to reduce pain, sleep better, move more comfortably, and maintain as much independence as possible means a great deal. I am genuinely grateful to have Dr. Cassim and his team helping me toward those goals. I don't give a recommendation like this lightly. Dr Cassim is simply amazing!! Best pain Dr I have been to. Had an injection in my neck at 2 different well known hospitals in la and even at the mayo clinic Rochester. All the drs were hesitant to perform this procedure and i was very uncomfortable during the whole process. Dr Cassim effortlessly injected my neck while talking to me and keeping me calm. My pain is all gone. Best outcome and experience to this day. Dr Cassim is an angel sent to help those in pain. Thank you !

Amazing dr and experience !!

Have suffered with back pain for almost four years ! Had seen two or three other doctors (one put me on medication for shingles)! After treatment with Dr Cassim I am almost pain free !!!

I’m 66 and have led an extremely active life. Despite abusing my body by running and a lifetime of sports, I’ve been lucky because I haven’t experienced any serious problems. In my mind, I’m 35 and until a couple of years ago, my body was OKAY with that ….… but then things changed. Long story short, my history finally caught up with me. I tweaked my lower back jumping off a stool. At first, I thought it was just a sprain, but the pain became EXTREME. It felt like someone hooked my lower back to car battery. I experienced numbness in my right leg, ankle and foot. This progressed to “drop foot” where my right foot would flop out to the right when I finished a step. For you older folks, it was like Festus on Gunsmoke. I consulted with Dr. Macwan (another fine doctor) who diagnosed my condition as spinal stenosis. He then referred me to Dr. Cassim. After examining me, he suggested I consider a Rhizotomy. I had never heard of this before but was happy to explore a potential… solution that wasn’t surgery. During this procedure, they dissolve the offending nerves which eliminates the pain. In order to qualify for this outpatient procedure, they administer a couple of lower back nerve blocks to see if they substantially eliminate the pain. If so, you’re a good candidate for the procedure. In my case, the initial nerve block instantly eliminated almost all of my pain. Same was true when they did the second nerve block a few weeks later. I had the procedure a few weeks after that and it was a tremendous success. In my case, it eliminated ALL my pain. Couldn’t believe it and I’ve been going strong ever since! Can’t say enough positive things about the procedure, Dr Cassim, his PA Michael Guiles and their nurse Melissa. The entire team is great, and they provided me with life changing pain relief. Not sure why there are any negative reviews – I received the highest level of healthcare from this incredibly professional team.

Have had 3 procedures for upper and lower spine done with Dr. Cassim. He and his P.A. Marianne Dezelan are excellent. His P.A. is thorough, understanding, compassionate. Simply put, these two are excellent!

Dr. Cassim was my last hope following years of treatment for Lower back pain; epidurals, facet injections, fusions, stem cell transplant, acupuncture, on and on! Dr. Cassim never gave up on me, was compassionate, professional, encouraging, and extremely skilled and confident. He was determined to help me and he did! I can’t say enough great things about him and I count it a hug blessing and privilege to have him as my doctor.
