 |  Why Doctor was fired from CAC Florida on 3/2/2010?  |  show details
by A on Mar 6th, 2010

Doctor was upset because:1-While CAC profits increased, patient's benefits were reduced.2-Humana fired 5% of work force, announced by company CEO, while incentive bonuses were given.3-His patients had to go to hospitals far from their homes when similar elective procedures could have been done closer to their homes.4-To "copy cat" Leon Medical Centers, greeters instead of needed medical assistants were hired.5-His medical records were reviewed by nonphysicians who asked him to make addendums with incorrect diagnosis (he had to provide that person with medical guidelines and information about kidney function to prove him wrong)so the company obtain higher reimbursement from Medicare.6-patient with serious medical conditions were referred to specialists who did not perform the procedure patient needed.7-congestive heart failure clinic was done by a NONCARDIOLOGIST.8-The new electronic prescription program can't be used 100% after 9 months of training and practice. If in a couple of months it is not fully operational and every doctor including specialists aren't using it, CAC will be taken to court.9-Doctors receive frequent reports full of incorrect data, and have to review scores of medical records to explain tests were done.10-Most of the time, hospital discharge follow ups take place without important hospital data.
