Too long a nightmare I’d rather not relive

Dr. Kalfas is a man of integrity. I was convinced I needed surgery and had it scheduled. After reviewing my symptoms and the change, he recommended cancelling until it is needed. Felt he cared more for the patient rather than generating $$ for the hospital.

It has been 8 weeks and my numbness in both legs are gone .. Just finished putting up 4 Cords of wood for the Winter ....Very Happy. The entire experience at the Cleveland Clinic , from the nurses to the office staff , was GREAT

He is an excellent neurosurgeon. Did an outstanding job on spinal stenosis. No more pain or bending over to be comfortable. It has been 4 years.

Dr. Kalfas did a very good job on my surgery. It has been3 years and the results have been very good. I had a doctor visit me in my hospital room quite often. I am very pleased with the result. He is very kind and caring and a very qualified neurosurgeon.

He operated on my wife. Three times. Because he screwed up the first discectomy so bad she required to follow up surgeries. Two years later and she is still in constatnt pain. I wouldn't allow this man to cut a sandwich let alone on a person.

This Doctor put me through 5 add'l months of pain and agony after a Laminectomy was unsuccessful when he refused to read an X-ray and referred me to Pain Mgt. After the 5 months, he showed the X-ray and said massive bone fusion surgery was indicated. If he had read the X-ray (he said in his office he doesn't read them and throws them in the waste basket) he would have done the surgery 5 months sooner. At that point I was forced to seek a second opinion. I can't comment on his bed side manner since he never came to visit after the surgery.

Dr. Kalfas is nothing short of amazing. I truly thank God I found him. I have more mobility and less pain than ever before. He has remarkable skill and is such a genuinely good person who truly cares for his patients.

Refused to talk to family before doing surgery. Questions while in hospital were passed to interns who were afraid of consequences of an inproper answer. With major spinal surgery no post op instructions were given to the patient or the POA. Total frustration with lack of communication, this doctor needs some serious lession in bed side manors. He discourges return visits and has trained his staff to do so, sending patients to their primary care, rehab center, nursing homes, when in fact the patient did not want to.

This doctor does not actual does the surgery , he teaches other doctor to when I told him I wanted him to the do surgery he still had a crew of kids play my back . Now Im suffering , I hope you get what you give!!
